Disadvantages Disadvantages preinstalled software can cause set up headaches.

While some of you may have already read my other DC7700 review here on ciao, I feel I should give you another details of another member of the range that we own. This PC is slightly lower performance spec that the one previously reviewed but also has some software differences that you need to be aware of. If you are not aware the DC7700 by HP Compaq is not 1 PC. It is a range of models under the 1 badge. As previously mentioned we are migrating to becoming a predominant HP Hardware user in the office and these desktops have so far proved great value for money with great performance Looks, Very ... more

Advantages Advantages Great price, features, performance, looks, styling

Disadvantages Disadvantages Im yet to find one!

Shiny and full of beans is my affectionate way to refer to our latest desktop recruits here in the office. No, not the staff but the PCs they work on. And they don't come much fuller than the DC7700 by HP Compaq. As previously mentioned we are switching to becoming a HP Hardware user fast and their desktops have been a pleasant suprise during hardware replacement. Let have a look at the product. The Case has a shiny silver front giving it a cutting edge look while is Black case with removable side panels make maintenance, upgrades and repairs easy with full access to the internals of the ... more

Advantages Advantages size, weight reduction, great performance

Disadvantages Disadvantages smaller expansion cards needed.

As you all know by now we are in the middle of replacing all of our workstation PCs at work and we have been buying the excellent DC7700 range from Hewlett Packard. However, in my most recent purchase, I hit a small snag. Until now, all of our previous PCs have been the tower design boxes. This is to say that the PC stands up vertically as opposed to the lying down small form factor design. I did this becaause oll of the PCs we require will be located under desks. Not on top which suits this design. When i spoke to the supplier, they informed me they could no longer get the DC7700 in tower ... more

Advantages Advantages Plenty of USBs, runs basic applications.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lacks the power for today's games.

In relation to the price of this PC, this is a good product to purchase if you want reasonable performance, at a minimal cost. Not the fastest PC in the world, but functional, and will meet office-based needs. A major plus is the large amount of USB slots. The 2.1 processor, along with the 1GB RAM gives this PC enough power for your word-processing, spreadsheeting, and the like, but may struggle if gaming is your main concern, as the 256MB integrated Intel chip is meant to only meet standard graphical applications. If you're more into your solitare than your Call of Duty, though, then you ... more
