Good to start off, but does not last

Advantages: Portable, tough and solid, easy to use
Disadvantages: Paper feeder, cartridges dry up, Windows XP drivers

...driver for XP on the HP website. Although there is one supplied with XP, it has a serious bug, which is that every few pages or so it starts plonking random control codes all over the page. On the flip side however, support for older operating systems is good: it does support Windows 3.1, MS-DOS and older Macintosh systems, and the Psion organisers also have inbuilt drivers for the machine. ... Good first time printer

Advantages: Running Cost
Disadvantages: Speed

I got this printer as part of my PC package and although it wasn't the reason for buying the PC I have been reasonably happy with the printer. The print quality is respectable in high quality mode, although it is not too good in draft mode. As for running costs, so far I have not had to worry about that, although I printed over 500 sheets I haven't run out of ink. The clour printing is OK, but to date I haven't done many colour prints, however ... Read review
