Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: Qaility of colour picures is poor

...this out after phoning the very polite and knowledgable helpline, how embarrassing. Printer cartiages cost £20-25 but alternates are to buy refill packs or non HP branded one at about a tenner. It doesn't come with a required printer cable but you can pick one up for £3 at Argos. ...

A great letter printer

Advantages: Cheap to buy, Good at text work
Disadvantages: Rubbish at photos, expensive cartidges

The HP Deskjet 610c is a budget range printer. I admit that’s the reason for which I purchased it. The printer is quite a large bulky device, with both paper trays sticking out of the front, so it requires a fair amount of desk space. Two buttons are on the front of the case, an off/on button and a paper feed button. Loading cartridges into the printer is easy; just lift the lid and the carriage parks centrally for the cartridges to be placed ...
...carriage resets. The drivers are easy to install from a CD and include a good range of tools; also a version of MGI Photosuite SE is supplied for photo editing. The printers performance, however is of mixed blessings. Printing text this printer is great, offering quality black print that makes any letter or text document look near laser quality. Unfortunately its graphics performance is not as good, offering about average graphics printing for ...

good buy for the average user

Advantages: Robust, good quality
Disadvantages: takes up a lot of space, expensive to run

The HP Deskjet 610c is a very good printer. However, it is quite expensive to run if you are using a lot of ink. The cartridges do cost a lot of money to replace, but you can get cartridges made by other manufacturers that are a fraction of the price and work just as well as the HP cartridges. This is a good printer for home/small office use. It does take up quite a bit of space on your desk as there is a paper tray built into the printer itself. ...
...has never ever given me any problems. The only problem I have is if there is a computer error and the printer won’t stop printing out blurb at me! If you want a printer to print out photo’s don’t buy this one, buy a higher quality model. If you want a printer for the kids homework and the odd letter, or have a small business and want to print out invoices etc, then this is the ideal, low cost printer for you! ...

Bigest piece of crap ever.

Advantages: Good picture quality
Disadvantages: prints page of crap for no reason.

When I frist got this printer I thought that it was a good printer. It proved me wrong after about four days. This printer randomly turns off and prints crap. When ever I turn it on it prints a page or two. Some times its blank, but most of the time it has four or five lines of letters they don't make since have any meaning. this printer also goes through an ink cartarge after about 100 pages of normal typeing. I sugest that no one ever by this printer. ...

...the photo quality paper from hP is poor. If you try and print on it you end up with a line of black on either side of the paper where the rollers of the printer has scraped the laers off. I would however only reccoment that you buy this printer if you are willing to buy a photo cartrage as well. The color quality is nothing in comparison to the photo quality service that it offers. ...

Great for students

Advantages: cheap, reliable, fairly quiet
Disadvantages: not great for printing out on photo-paper

A top brand and a top printer. You can pick these up for less than £50 now and with replacement cartridges relatively cheap, easy to obtain and simple to fit, there can be none better value for any student, teemager or PC newbie. I'm not sure what the criticisms from others are about re: cartridges not lasting very long. I can only assume their printer settings are set at ultra-high quality, which will of course use up mor eink, but changing these ...

Change the default to economy, because that is all you need most fo the time, then when you need a final good quality print for a letter or essay another ocuple of clicks and you can have a superb looking document with minimal fuss. If you are looking for a cheap but reliable PC to get you started, or perhaps a second, back-up for the house, then you can't go far wrong with this model. ...

The worst printer since the ZX81 Thermal Job!

Advantages: Cheap and I haven't got one anymore!
Disadvantages: Slow, badly built, bad drivers, bad everything, bad smell!!!

I usually write good reviews in my opinion and do try and be subjective over things and tell people advantages and disadvantages etc but this just has no advantages. This is quite simply the tattiest, worst quality, slowest piece of junk I have ever used. I bought three of them for my office and sent them all back after two days as they are unusably slow and the quality of print is simply horrific. On best quality photo output you would not believe ...

HP Printer

Advantages: good text printer
Disadvantages: not good for photo's, expensive cartridges

I bought the HP deskjet printer about 2 years ago now from pc world. It cost me about £79.99, which isn't too expensive. It's probably even cheaper now though. It's a good printer but quite bulky, so you do need space to put your printer. It's very easy to use. The paper tray is at the front which sticks out. There are two buttons on the front too, one is the on/off button and the other one is the paper feed button. Priniting text is really good ...
...not recommended buying this printer if you want to print a lot of photo's off. The colour print resolution is 300 dpi by 300 dpi, which isn't brilliant now a days. The ink cartridges are very expensive. The balnk ink cartridge is £25 and the colour ink cartridge is £20. You need to look around really to find them cheaper. I found them cheaper at the supermarket. I would recommend buying this printer for text work but not for photo's. ...

Nice Cheep Printer

Advantages: Good Results, Photo quality
Disadvantages: Noisy, Bulky

I got this printer bundled in with my computer package and allthough it's one of the cheeper printers, I have had very good results with it. being used normally to print out reports and letters it works very well although it is a bit noisy, used in conjunction with a scanner or digital camara to print photos onto photo quality paper it is very good, When you change the black ink catridge for a photo cartridge the results are fantastic, although a ...
...recommend purchaseing one unless you had a specific project. Normal daily use I have found that my cartridges have lasted quite some time around four months, so allthough the cartridges are quite exspensive they do last. The only draw backs are the noise and the it is a bit bulky if you have bought anything like a printer shelf or a desk with a built in printer shelf, this printer will not fit. A good printer though which is well worth your cash ...

...thing. We purchased the Hp Deskjet 610C because it seemed easy to understand and upload and the price was very good. All you need to do to upload the printer is to put in the CD and install it easily with easy to follow instructions. Pros and Cons

Advantages: Cheap and reliable
Disadvantages: Cost of ink cartridges

I have had a Deskjet 610C for almost 18 months and it is still going strong. The main reason that I purchased it for was the cost, It was the cheapest available and was part of a larger computer bundle. It has worked with no breakdowns and has been very reliable able to print off a lot of work It has a medium print speed with a good print quality The one main disadvantage I have found is the availablitiy of replacement ink cartridges, I have ...

Print Away

Advantages: Quility
Disadvantages: Speed and Doesn't like card

Print Away Print Happily with the Hewlett Packard DeskJet 610C it does all the jobs you want it to, it may be a little out of the time but it is still a great little printer. The quality that comes out is really good which looks even better on glossy paper. Sure the print cartridges cost a few pounds but at least you get a big holding supply. The only thing wrong with most Hewlett Packard DeskJet’s is that they don’t like card! When ...

Deskjet 610C get the truth here

Advantages: quite fast, quite cheap, quite good
Disadvantages: quite normal, not too excellent

You may have read reviews of this printer by other members, most of them are terrible, and they don't put over the general picture. It's a case of the few disapointed buyers shouting so loud that they deny you a clear picture, I hope to put that right. For someone who prints off once or twice a day in colour, and not too ofter in black and white, you will find this good value for money. If, however, you are a commercial printing firm I'd recommend ...
...quickly, cheaply and easily then you'll love this, the installation was done in 5 minutes and there have been no problems. If, however, you need 50 pages and minute and it must be photo quality then try another printer. If you want a fairly quiet printer with a footprint small enough to go on your desk, then you've come to the right place. If, however, you want a printer that prints silently and will fit in your coat pocket then buy and Game Boy! ...

Advantages: price
Disadvantages: ink cartridges are too expensive

I have 2 HP DJ 610c, one in london and one in Taipei. I prefer HP than Canon because that it seems more stable. However the ink cartridges are too expensive, so I always brought some from my country. It's much cheaper in Taiwan. I am a little bit disappointed in the repair service in UK. The techonologists working there don't seem very good and the service is slow. It took almost one week to have my printer back. In Taipei, it would be only 1 hr, ...
