I took the printer home and opened the box. Inside were the printer, power cord, colour print cartridge, black print cartridge, print software, users guide and Quick Start Poster. Be forewarned, the printer does not come with an interface cable. The printer was very easy to set up. It can be connected with parallel or USB hook-up. This unit is stable; it does not shake or rattle, like most Canons or Lexmarks. The 930's small footprint measuring 44x40x19.5cm and curvaceous design do not look out of place at home. I bought my HP 930c printer as part of a package from Dell Computers in October 2000. At first I was disappointed because I had wanted an Epson printer because from my previous experience they seemed much more reliable and the ink lasted longer. However, Dell had stopped stocking certain parts for the Epson printers they sold and they couldn’t send me one. So I opted for an HP in the same price bracket – the HP 930c at the time the printer cost me ... ...I spoke to said that HP printers didn’t come with their own parallel cable, so I bought an extra from Dell. When the printer arrived and I unpacked it from its’ box, it did have its’ own cable. I have owned my HP 930c printer for a number of years, and it is still going strong! When purchased this printer cost around £130 and at the time was one of the top printers available.
The printer has separate black and colour cartridges which is useful as most of my printing seems to be black and white. One drawback is that the colour cartridge is a single cartridge containing all threee base colours which means that if one colour runs out a whole ... ...search around the web. The HP cartridges tend to be more expensive as the print head is integral to the cartridge, I find this good as you know that the print quality will always be as good as new, if the print head remains in the printer as it does with Epson printers it can degrade over time, allthough you can replace them.
The printer is not particulary fast doing around 4PPM but this can go up to 9PPM if you go to draft quality for balck and ...

Having reviewed my Hp Deskjet 845c printer the other day, I thought I might as well review my other printer- an HP Deskjet 930C, which I believe is a more recent model, although we've had it a while longer than the 845c. Again, it cost around £100 or so.
Firstly, everything general I said about inkjet printers in my review for the 845c still holds true, so please see that review for those details. Instead I just want to concentrate on the differences ... ...As with most other HP models in the recent range, you can change the print cartridges by opening up the lid- and the inkjet nozzle apparatus helpfully comes out to allow you to take the old cartridges out and put the new ones in. Replcaing the cartridges is there quick and easy.
The tray doesn't hold a great deal of paper,but this is generally true for most inkjet printers. If you're wanting to print off 1000 sheets in a big hurry then you really ...

...on copier paper with the HP cranked right up to the highest print quality (1200 DPI, I believe).
The finished picture was excellent, and I now keep it to show customers how good the printer can be even on cheap A4 paper.
Now I'm gutted! I went out and bought an Epson 700 Photo about a year or so ago, and the comparision between the two, well the Epson has 2 extra ink colours, so the skin tones should be better. They are not. The Epson takes much ... ...mins, where as the HP 930C can do the same picture in around 7mins. So, if you're printing a few pictures the time saved is alot!
The downside to this printer (HP930C) is that the cartridges are expensive. The colour cartridge can cost between £20 - £28 and the black can cost about the same. But to justify this, when you change the cartridge you get a new print head, so therefore the print quality is the same as the day you bought it! Unlike Epson ...

...a few problems with the HP 500 series etc but when it came to the 560, then the very widely used 640 HP were getting their name around and now, most companies that I know use HP printers. The HP930c is probably the best printer I have seen to date from HP. It looks nice (have you notice how everything seems to be going curvy in the world of computing?! Nothing’s square like it was before!) it print’s fast, gives you a good clear print ... ...is a new feature for HP printers but it’s old news for Epsom printers who have been doing the same thing for ages. I’ve figured out that I can fold it up with the paper in it aswell, I don’t know if I’m supposed to do this though, so anyone who knows could you tell me please? It doe’s make the paper curved though! The software you get with the printer is good as usual. You get three types of print mode for normal printing ...

...its reliability and the number HP have sold. This model is now getting a bit ‘old in the tooth’ and cartridges in the major retail outlets for this model are getting fewer and fewer on the display racks. Weather this is due to popularity or just winding down is debatable. Call me a cynic but my personal opinion is more inclined towards stores profits and efficient utilization of display space.
Having said that, if you only want to print ... ...of cartridges. One from HP for any presentation or quality work and the other I use for draft and general duties. Also knowing that the image display requirements when used on Internet websites can be lower without loss of quality can help to when deciding how the quality of an image will be effected when displayed on screen. ...

When I bought my first PC to take away with me to university i thought that I wold be needing a printer but I didn't really want to spend too much (under £60 preferably). However, the only printers that were available for that price were really very basic printers with not very impressive specs and from brands that I'd rarely heard of.
Then, upon browsing the PC World site I noticed this printer for £79.99 (I think) with £20 off) and at first I ... ...seemed to be worth the money.
Features that stood out for me were:
*Exceptionally high print speed (for an inkjet) - and even on Draft quality, the quality of the documents were supurb.
*Two slots for colour and black cartridges to sit side by side - always useful so that your black text doesn't look green with a colour cart!
*Nice, compact, fold-down paper tray with adjustable sliders for envelopes and the like - the fact that it folds down ...

Just in the case of print quality, it comes for misunderstandings again and again. The solution alone only states little via actual print quality. ... ...printer then to quality the HP printer. Defiance of the circumstance, that these had only a solution of 600 dpi. Why? Very simple, the solution indeed indicates how many small color points are put on onto a specific face, however, the highest number brings little to dpi only if the print head obscures the put on color or the employed paper does not lace the color optimally. I paid £150 for my HP 930c in September 2000 when the model was new. Since then I've seen them priced as low as £70 in the Viking Direct sales catalogues, great value for money for the printer itself.
The quality of the printed material is excellent if I use the correct cartridges. I have tried refill kits and compatible cartridges but the quality isn't quite as good. They are adequate for most things but not for master copies that go on to be photo ... ...that isn't important to me. HP deskjets are tough printers, my first one churned out an unbelievable amount before it broke down after 2 years use. That might not sound long but for most of the time I was printing at least 1,000 A4 pages a week. I don't print as much now because I acquired a cheaper to run photo copier to do the donkey work, but I still use it a lot and 18 months later its running like new. ...

...this is purely a cosmetic thing, I prefer the dark silver of the HP rather than the light grey of the Epson, gives it that extra look of uniqueness.

...obvious from the appearance that HP have invested a good amount of time in developing this printer. It is user friendly both in software and hardware senses, it is fast and reliable. This is a photo quality printer that definitely produces pictures of photographic quality.
I cannot comment in the price of the new cartridges as mine is still going strong after six months use (there is a level indicator to keep you informed). Whatever the program ...

I started my computing about three and a half years ago and at that time did a lot of research into which tools were the best at that time to suit the needs that I had for them. This included all the gadgetry and printers, scanners, cameras, etc., because I only wanted to spend once ! Yes, alright so this is a little naive but for the foreseeable future, I wanted to know that what I bought was right so that I did not have costly replacements to think ... ...many, and had demonstrations of various and slimmed my choice between the Hewlett Packard 930 series and the Canon range. Here, the choice was difficult. Whilst the Canon range offered as much as the 930 series did, something in the back of my mind told me that at £135, as opposed to £150, I was getting the best I could for my money.

Advantages: Great quality output, and speed. USB connection Disadvantages: Half size (economy) cartridges supplied in the box, as opposed to the full-size cartridges.
This is my first HP printer ever! My last two printers were an Epson Stylus Color 640, and a very, very old Canon BJ-10e. The Epson is currently RUSTING IN PEACE right now...
I've got it hooked up to a 24Mb P100 machine, purely because it's then not in my bedroom, as my sister thinks that is a bad idea. It doesn't stop me from borrowing from time to time, and hooking it up my K6-2 333Mhz
As for the printer. It was fairly easy to set-up, but I found ... ...is a bit annoying to me, but then again, I have a refill kit, which I can use on all three of my printers, so I'm not too bothered, but then again, others may not be like me. This is probably one of HP's statergies to get people to buy the cartridges. The Full size black cartridge costs £20, but is good a quite a lot of pages I guess. The full size colour cartridge is round about £28. The cartridges subsidise the cost of the Printer, hence the REALLY ...
