...But when I saw the HP Deskjet F380 and the HP PSC 1410 all in one printer/copier and scanner for only £49.99 I was hooked!
I called out to one of the sales assistants only to be asked to hold on and he'd get me another assistant as they had a known shoplifter in the store. The other assistant came over within a minute or two, and asked how he could help, I asked about the 1410 all in one first, to which he replied he had none in stock but the F380 ... ...at £14.99 and £17.99 respectively. HP recommend you use HP no 21 (black) and HP no 22(colour) with this, and HP no 58 for photo printing (I'm using 21 and 22 and getting good quality photos, I will try 58 next time I need to renew!

Personally I always print software programming manuals which I download from internet. The manuals usually come with illustrations and graphics. It consumes much ink, and I cannot stand buying new ink-cartridges as recommended by most manufacturers. That is why I love refilling my cartridges instead of buying the original cartridges.

...PCWorld's website I discovered the HP DeskJet F380 - an all-in-one printer, scanner and copy machine reduced to 39,99 pounds and coming with free delivery.
The decision was quickly made. When I read through the product page I came across a note saying "You will need a USB cable to operate this printer" - well great, another 10 pounds for a USB cable since this isn't included in the box content of the printer. Overall price then 49,99 which was the ... ...this problem since I bought HP because I was hoping for a quality difference to inferior (?) brands.

After the disappointment of scanning the good news is that copying worked just fine. You put your document on the glass, choose whether to copy black or in colour, press a button and a few seconds later you'll have a decent copy of your original document.
The good news is also that copying is much faster than printing even though ...

...my old printer, also a HP all-in-one, I decided it was time to stop scamming ink and paper off all of my friends and to make the plunge into buying a new printer. It took me a long time to get round to it and I wasn't very happy about spending fifty quid or so on a printer, probably a lot more with ink and cables, which is why I put it off so long! However! Then I discovered the HP Deskjet F380, which certainly cheered me up!

These are Original HP cartridge numbers. I have managed to find a supplier that sells them for less than £10 each (not including Photo Cartridge).

...is almost unbeatable, and with HP you know you're buying quality and will get the relevant support if you sign up to help tool when installing the printer. The downsides to this printer include the lack of an LCD screen, which you would find on the more expensive Photosmart models. On top of this, there are no slots to place SD or equivalant cards directly into the printer, which may put some potential buyers off. For me, it has never proved a problem, ... ...I don't print pictures often enough to warrant extra slots on my printer. Lastly, the software can sometimes be a bit intrusive, particularly if you have software included with your digital cameras etc. However, it does make scanning images and documents easier. ...15 cm photos. Being a HP product it does of course come with its own sofware - in this case 'HP Photosmart Essential Software'. The purpose of this printer is to be ultra-compact enabling all-in-one printing, scanning and copying. It is listed on CIAO as costing up to £490, why this is I don't know when I picked mine up on the highstreet for £33 and paid for it in full with what I thought were going to be useless Christmas vouchers, As with all computing ... ...always easy to re-connect after a paper jam, after you change its ink or after canceling a print job. Paper jams occur very often as the paper tray itself never seems to properly align the paper - when a jam does occur you need to not only cancel the print job but restart the computer (otherwise it does not recognise it) which is infuriating to say the least when you have a lecture in 5 minutes and need your lecture notes or essay paper.

This is an extremely good printer. It has two separate cartridges, black and colour, a built in scanner, printer and stand alone photocopier. All of these functions are very high quality and very quick. It is wasy to learn how to use and install and prints a page in seconds. The scanner scans very good quality images and so does the photocopier. It can also print on photo paper and although this uses a lot of ink it is impossible to tell the image ... ...has very useful buttons to quickly do what you want to do and also the funstion to tell the printer to photocopy something up to 9 times at once without even using a computer!! Cartridges for this printer vary between £10 and £20 depening on whether you are after black or colour. (this price is for Hewlett Packard official cartridges) ...

...which was £49 or the Hp which was £39, i had never had any experience with hp before and was unsure but i was completely swayed by the glossy white shine on the top of the Hp. (never buy a printer on the basis of design)
The guy in the shop tried to talk us into buying extra ink at £12 each as he said the ink inside was only enough for the print test pages. I declined, as I hate salesmen and hoped he was wrong. It cost another £7 for the cable to ... ...packed inside the printer itself. The setup was pretty simple, just follow the cd etc.The first thing i noticed (after not paying attention in the shop) was that the printer didn't need to be connected to the computer to work, it will quite happily scan and print like a photocopier without being connected. This may seem obvious, but i had not taken this into consideration. Big thumbs up as it would be great for a photo printer, but it is lacking ...

...I have this product, the HP Deskjet F380.
The paper size that can fit the scanner is actually small, a letter-size paper I think. But nevertheless it delivers good quality scans. And even when using it as a copier, it's 99% accurate as I've tested it myself.
The best thing about this is that it is very affordable! For the price of about $100 when we bought it, it's actually very cheap. And of course with such a great product we get good scanning ... ...expensive so we can print and print without having to think much about the ink price.
Overall, this product is truly a reward for me. It's a very good investment for my money. I could have bought a hand-held gaming console for myself, but with this everyone has a use for it. A very reliable product. ...

...I ever had was an HP and it lasted me for many a year and saw me through all the printing I needed to do for my degree.
Since then I've tried many makes. Cannon, Epsom, Lexmark but they're all disappointed in one way or another and the Cannon finally died on me just the other day.
It never happens at a good time. It never happens when you think 'Never mind I've got a few pounds to spare' so off I toddled round to PC World to look for the cheapest ... ...of about 7 or 8 years, and a price drop of over £150 pounds since I last bought an HP printer, I feel as if I've come home again. If this one lasts half as long as the last one it will have been worth every penny spent on it. ...

I bought this all-in-one printer as a spur of the moment buy, I urgently needed to print a lot of things, and this seemed very cheap for what it offered. Since having the printer I have to say, I am very glad I bought it, its much more reliable than any other printer I've had, the softward that comes with it to help you organise your pictures is also a pretty useful and self explanatory thing. I love the photocopying facility of this printer, especially ... ...it photocopies quickly and gives a perfect replica of the original. The print quality is fantastic, today I had to print some large, colour images, and they printed perfectly, I was very impressed. The only downside with this printer is that the ink cartridges are pretty small and therefore they don't last very long if your printing a lot, especially the black and white cartridge, but at least the cartridges are cheaper because they are smaller. ...
