Advantages: had no problems with it, yet Disadvantages: the tower is a bit tacky, can fall apart easy
Hi! at the moment my beloved PB 3120 Laptop, is dun-dun-duh!! BROKE. It didn't last very long but eh! neither would anything the way I treat it, or would it. Well a year and a half on my Packard Bell IConnect 1350 still works, and I tells ya, it has had a few beatings and bumps. To include a few: Dropping it from my table, spilling coffee on my monitor and keyboard and a Cd blew up, Yep! actually blew up wrecking my DVD drive (Thanks for the album ... ...as a replacement to Mr Laptop. Yet! this computer isnt moaning at being second best and isnt even moaning that I came crawling back when my new toy decided to go on strike, it is quietly humming at the bottom of the table, just content that I am using it again. Sorry, but IConnect I am using you.
Last Year in April I bought the computer for £749.99 from PCworld, not really a bad deal and as they were on offer, I decided it wouldnt be a rip to upgrade ...

Advantages: Don't even go there! Disadvantages: They don't work!, Packard Bell are incompetent
I am writing this as a warning to anyone thinking of buying a Packard Bell computer. We bought our Packard Bell iconnect 1350 from PC World for £849 in May 2001. It came with a 17" A726 monitor, a 56K modem, an 800Mhz processor, 64MB RAM, 8MB shared memory and a 20GB hard drive. A very good deal - or so we thought.
Within weeks we were having problems with the computer. It kept crashing, particularly when we were on the Internet, and when we contacted ... ...and the Windows Me installed on the computer. Fair enough we thought, but still a bit of a pain. However, it did not stop there.
Soon the computer was seemingly crashing at random, and to make matters worse, it would never allow us to reset via. the 'Ctrl, Alt + Delete method'. It can never be good to have to keep switching off the computer before shutting down first! As if to compound this, we then started to notice that the computer wouldn't even ...

Advantages: quite fast, compact, reliable, great quality, built in card reader, compact, ink lasts long time, easy to use Disadvantages: none
...a while ago with my HP PC, and the first thing I noticed was that it didnt need any installation. It was pre- installed on the computer, which is something to bear in mind if you have a not very old HP computer. I therefore can't report on ease of Intallation, but it came with a disk, which is always a good sign.
As standalone It is just unbelievably easy to use. Turn it on, insert what you want to copy, as little as 1 button press later you have ... ...but quite regularly.
So, It's remarkably easy to use, very reliable, does everything, is cheap to run, and the print quality won't blow you away, but is the best of any printer i've ever had. A fantastic All-In-One printer, especially good with HP computers. I would reccomend without hesitation. ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Unreliable equipment, poor aftersales support from Packad Bell
I bought my Iconnect from Dixon's last August for £899 and have had nothing but complaints.
It started after 2 weeks when my mouse and key board stoped working. After a few checks, the problem was that the USB ports wouldn't recognise. After calling the support line I was advised remastering the system with the recovery disc. Thus loosing all my personal files, most of wich were too large to back up to floppy, I couldn't have backed up in any case ... ...solve the problem and after ther rest of the night on the phone, he service dept. finally decided to send an engineer out.
The motherboard had to be replaced as it was faulty, i could have saved my files after all as I didn't need to remaster it!!!!AAAAARRRRRGGGHHH!!!!
Any way, everything ran sweet for a few weeks until i kept having problems with internet explorer crashing. I could live with this for the time being. After another week the computer ...

Advantages: It does everything for average household use Disadvantages: Sometimes a little annoying when it runs out of paper
...this is probably my fault as I am not patient and a little careless. I haven't had need to contact HP so I don't know what their customer service/support is like so I have rated this as satisfactory.
Overall very happy with this little work horse, highly recommended. ...

...with a 15" moniter, a HP scanjet 2001c scanner and a Lexmark Z22 printer in February 2001 and it cost £999. It’s more or less the same as the 1350 here are the specs: -
Processor: 700mhz Intel Celoron
Memory: 64MB SDRAM
Hard Disk: 20GB
CD ROM: Samsung DVD/CDRW combo Graphics: On board VGA
Sound: On board
I agree with the other people that have complained about the Iconnect on here. I have had problems mine from the very begining It crashed ... ...computer". So from then on I knew there would be trouble with it. Sometimes for absaloutly no good reason the sound goes off, and i have to reinstall the sound drivers, it crashes all the time, And is always low on RAM despite me adding another 128MB since i got it. Every time it goes into stand by or hibernation it just stops responding.
I expected a lot better quality from Packard Bell. Who are a well reconised computer manufacturer that’s one ...

Advantages: Superb print quality, easy to use, built in card reader and good scan quality. Disadvantages: A bit bulky and you have to have access to the lid.
...as it recognises only genuine Hp products.
Overall I would say the good points definitely outweigh the bad. If this one broke I would even go out and buy the same model again. They are inexpensive for all of what it does (I have seen them for under £100 brand new) and the cartridges for it are common ones and they have been coming down in price. ...
