Advantages: Full Size Keyboard, Good Speakers, Large Display, Powerfull, Stunning Looks Disadvantages: Short Battery life, Known issue with manufacturer.
I have owned the HP DV9030EA for a year now.
There is a known issue at HP of this laptop overheating and therfore an extended 1 years warrenty is offered for free via HP. I personally encountered this problem which caused the Graphics card to fail. At power on, you would get no display / external display.
I spent around half an hour on the phone to HP and was very pleased with the service i received. They collected the laptop next day and quoted ... ...laptop back within 7 days and it didnt cost me a penny! On the diagnosis sheet they identified it was fitted with an entire new mainboard. Most Pleased! Overall This laptop is Brilliant! Some Small features make for a big difference: Full Size Keyboard, Abillity to turn touchpad off easily, How thin the laptop is, 5 in 1 card reader and very quiet opperation.

Advantages: Powerfull, stylish, many featured, Large display with built in camera and full Keyboard. Disadvantages: Overheating, noisy fan and short battery life. It's large and Heavy.

HP did give me a great fast service on the extended warrantly on this problem (see the website under dv9030ea) but the problem is the pain of having to keep replacing it and also from worrying when the next time will be. The first time it took out my Hard drive too. To conclude it's powerful and styllish but you will probally end up having to replace the motherboard more than once. Advantages: Looks nice Disadvantages: over heats you can feel it on the laptop, thought it was normal, not.
To everyone, The HP laptops in my experience have inherent overheating problems. They cause the motherboard to overheat components, like the graphics card. The max warranty you can have is 2 years or the 3 months extended warranty after repairing it. Mine was the expensive top spec model bought December 2006 and broke down just a month before the two years, then it was repaired twice and now they have abandoned me as the 3 month repair warranty is ... ...a broken laptop. HP knows about the problems. Try googling it or look at HP forums. I feel they sold too many laptops to recall a manufactures return. So they will repair them on a customer complaint basis. If you pass 2 years then you are on your own.
The other problem with this inherent problem is that if I got it repaired at my own expense (PC world quoted £230.00), there is no guarantee that it wont break down in 4 month time again. I would ...

(+) positive aspects include the speed, apperance/design of the laptop, and the enhanced performance. (-) i have a matt black laptop and it shows dirty finger prints.
