    I was looking for a lightweight, well-built smaller format laptop with great features and this one fits the bill nicely. The HDMI connector was a must as I wanted to be able to hook it to my plasma tv and watch BBC iPlayer stuff. Unfortunately the sound isn't configured to run over the HDMI connector easily. I have fiddled around and managed to get it to work sometimes but the help feature isn't, well, that helpful.     I have always thought that HP laptops are the best, without have to go down the "hey, look at me and my apple product, i'm so different and non conformist" route. The Dv3-2310ea is by far the best laptop i have ever owned and great value for money. The touchscreen is really helpful (although i keep forgetting i have it) and the built-in webcam is pretty decent too. Weight wise its ballpark with most mid-range laptops nowadays.
