Advantages: Speedy, solid, reliable, HP Disadvantages: A budget laptop
...as I know) picked the HP Pavilion DV6000 (as far as I'm aware theirs no difference between this and the T model though if there is, I'm sorry). Quite why My mother (darling mother of mine) decided to ever get the pile of fecial matter that Acer claimed was a laptop I was never quite to sure, as everything in it came to peices, the keys flew off, the screen was...well dead, the AV charge wire was..erm..well dead too. Why couldn't she have gone after ... ...days, and I'd take a HP over just about any sort of a laptop barring whatever Alan (my ex's dad had) and the Sony Viao (sp anyone?) series. HP's if you've read my previous work on them rank up there as basically one of my favourite hardware companies. HP desktops on the whole are built with good, relliable, well manufactured parts *coughunlikedellscough* and most of all they are built to last until you need an upgrade due to technological advances, ...

Advantages: Sleek, solid performance all-round. Disadvantages: Slightly short battery life.
I really like this laptop and would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget notebook to give them access to the Internet, decent games and a workstation. I picked up the DV6000 in the UK for around the 400-pound mark and it has served me well as a desktop replacement while working abroad.
It looks good and feels good with a tactile silky texture, has a 15.4 inch high-resolution screen that is easy on the eyes and has decent in-built speakers ... ...good specs for a notebook, which can handle even fairly demanding modern games (it has an Nvidia GeForce Go 7500). By way of example, I played Neverwinter Nights 2 on the DV6000; whilst I did have to turn most of the graphic settings right down, the game ran fine and was fully playable (and Neverwinter Nights 2 is known as a fairly demanding game).
It offers several Internet options; Ethernet, modem or firewire. I was delighted to find that my local ...

...realy be beaten!
As HP is a trusted reliable brand and guarentees excellent customer service on and offline, much reccommended by me than getting a cheaper 'fugitsu' laptop crap.. Only set backs realy are that the battery life isnt that brilliant compared to other laptops around and is a bit of an energy sucker. The wireless internet switch can sometimes be accidently switched if typing but nothing major and i think that an addition of a webcam ...

Advantages: Competitive price, good looks Disadvantages: poor durability
We have had our Laptop nearly 3 years now and I have to say it is coming to the end of its useful life - I think they are designed to last 2-3 years (for company use perhaps) and then everything is beyond its useful life. Perhaps that is how they manage to offer the spec. for the competitive price? For the first 2 years it has been great - very quick, although the built in wi-fi receiver was poor and we had to use an external one which sort of misses ... ...soon gone so we have bought additional batteries (and we make a point of allowing a full charge / discharge cycle to maintain battery life). The widescreen is very clear, the touchpad easy to use and the case is strong and sturdy. I have always found that it runs very hot - looking on forums it is a known problem that the fan is too smalll for the chassis. Due to the overheating issue the hard drive is starting to go, to the point where the machine ...

This is a very good and easy to use laptop. I have been using it for about a year now and it still has not let me down. It has a very classy and wide screen and is therefore great for entertainment purposes. Advantages: Design, Performance and Quality Disadvantages: Updates of laptops are too fast and get outdated easily
The HP Pavilion dv6000t is a full-featured multimedia laptop with a highly interesting look. Like all laptop computers, it is a use in give and take. What sets it away from other machines, however is that it goes a long way to explaining its popularity is its impressive blend of looks, performance, comfort and price. At current prices, the dv6000t offers a fine mix of components and performance in the £300 to £700 range. I bought it 2 years ago,it works good, but this Core 2 Duo is really slow when oppening some apps .It is impossible to run games on this laptop. The screen is wonderfully bright and clear, but really bad when trying to use the laptop outside. It is like looking in mirror, practically unusable in sunlight. The DV6000 comes with a nice and little remote control for use in controlling HP’s multimedia player. It has its own DVD player (QuickPlay). I have now owned by dv6000 laptop for 18 months. As a university student, I use it non-stop - for writing notes, browsing the web, listening to music, uploading photos etc. It has lasted really well, and despite the inevitable technological developments always going on, still seems really up to date compared to newer models on the market. The built-in speakers are also really good; I have not needed to buy any others, and regularly play all my music through my laptop. The volume also goes quite loud, which is useful.
