Well, I received this laptop as a christmas present last year, and It's barely working today. Don't get me wrong, when I first started using it, it was fantastic. Up until the four-five month mark though, it started heading downhill. The first thing I noticed, was how unbearably hot the computer would get, even when on for just a few minutes. It would literally heat my entire room, if there was no circluation. The next major problem was the battery. ... ...minutes, or it would die. I knew this wasn't normal, and looked at the website to see if anything was wrong, and sure enough, they were having a major recall on the battery for my brand notebook. Needless to say, I wasn't happy. Oh, and did I mention, that the heat from my laptop fried my wireless on my motherboard? So I had to go out and purchase an 80$ wireless USB adapter. This laptop has been nothing but a giant pain. I would not recomment this ...

The HP Pavilion DV6 is a really nice, solid laptop and you really can’t go wrong with it. The price makes it very affordable.
The unit has a nice, sleek design and good all-around performance. It also offers a solid balance of features which really makes this laptop usable as a desktop replacement aslong as it is now left unplugged for a long time
So, despite a few setbacks, you really can’t go wrong with the DV6 if you are looking ...

Advantages: Processor Speed, Good GPU, Enough RAM for everyday computing and a little oomph. Disadvantages: Overheating Processor, Vista Issues(obvious)
The Hp dv6 is a good laptop. It's AMD Turion X2 is a dual-core processor gives it good speed for everyday use but also gives the computer it's main disadvantage. This processor has a tendency to overheat with use and it gets worse over time. This doesnt just cause disconfort with a burning sensation on your lap, but it can damage the motherboard and let's face it a new motherboard is a new computer. On a happier note you can expand the overall durability of your computer and battery life if you refrain from using it on a surface where the fan will be obstructed, i.e. lap, bed, covers. Use a cooling base for the computer, they work great on these laptops and you dont have to lose affordability or speed by choosing Intel. ...

Advantages: big screen, camera, number pad Disadvantages: battery

I used to be a Dell purchaser but lately their computers haven't had what I wanted. But this HP is the nicest one so far, with a reasonable price tag. Their is a number pad right next to the qwerty keyboard and is very useful for computing numbers into the computer. This computer has a big screen with an HP webcam that takes pictures ...
