Advantages: high specs , reasonable cost, 17" Disadvantages: battery life
...I have bought it from HP store. got a 40 £ discount from the site.
The dual core processor is very responsive even with windows vista running. 9gb of the drive is used for the recovery partition.
The touch pad has a vertical tochbar which allows you to scroll the pages. a very useful feature. there is a button with which you can lock the touchpad. The keyboard is a complete one with numeric keypad.
at the top of the keypad there are quick launch ... ...configuration laptop with additional features like HDMI port and built in TV turner card and 320GB hard disk - HP DV9655ea. available for 650£'s on amazon when i last saw it. Would have gone for that one if it was available.
