5 Stars Fuzzy photos - a thing of the past Review with images 17/03/2004

Fuzzy wuzzy were 2 words, which sprung to mind every time I tried to print photos from my old photo printer (Epson Stylus C82), using my old digital camera. I saw more dots than on that yellow polka-dotted bikini from the 60’s generation. (NO! I don’t remember the original song & I never wore one either lol). As we were investing in a new, modern, digital cameral, it made sense to purchase a new photo printer at the same time. I wanted something, which would allow me to print photos that actually looked like photos. After a lot of searching, I eventually settled on the HP Photosmart 145 ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap that's about it.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor image quality, don't have any battery option.

Features The Photosmart 145 looks much like a loaf of bread and weighs less than 3 pounds. It is very light that you carry it with you especially during your travel. It‘s about 8.5 inches wide, 4 inches high and 3 inches deep. The front panel of the printer can be folded to become an input tray that holds up to 20 sheets of paper. You can use Photosmart 145 to print from a Mac or a PC or from an HP Direct Print-compatible digital camera via the 145's USB port in the back. You can also print 4 x 6-inch photos without the use of your computer. The HP Photosmart 145 compact photo printer provides ... more

Advantages Advantages Portable, easy to set up and use, no PC required

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I have just bought one of these small, lightweight, portable printers and am delighted with it. I cannot agree with the previous review that says prints are of poor quality as mine are very good. Perhaps it depends on the quality of the camera? The HP 145 was very easy to set up and I had printed my first photo within 10 minutes of un packing the box. I really like the fact that you can choose to use with a PC or as a stand alone printer. I am looking forward to being able to take photos and print them off almost immediately at family functions. Although you cannot preview the photos on the ... more

Advantages Advantages Ease of use, multi card reader

Disadvantages Disadvantages No usb cable supplied

I'll save all the technical details, mysteryshopper has just about covered all that. I'll back up all the pro's for this liitle beauty though. We too decided to buy a photo quality printer to compliment oour new digital camera, and again the price swayed us towards this. We actually paid slightly more, but at £99 it still turned out to be a bargain. The ease of installation means that anyone can do it, the multi card slots inside the front cover are very handy also. I use it for printing my own pictures from my SD media, but can also print from my father in-laws Flash media card. Once connected ... more
