Advantages: colour accuracy, size, connects to computer, CONVENIENCE Disadvantages: B&W quality, effected by light, not water resistant, more expensive than developing
...my first dealing with a HP printer.
The HP photosmart printers seem to be smaller than most of their rivals - epson, canon, etc - with a few exceptions. Its nice and compact and i've never had a problem with transporting it. The paper feed is on the back of the unit which is different to HPs desktop printers where the feed is on the front. The cartridge loads into the front. Although its designed as a standalone printer (without the need for a computer) ... ...You will have to buy a USB lead separately though. This option works really well and i found it easier, especially if you are printing in bulk. You also get editing/cropping options which the printer doesn't give you as a standalone option. Should you want a printer with these options there are many more on the market now, made by all manufacturers, than there were when this model first came out.
If your camera has a pictbridge function (where you ...

I bought the printer as a package which included the printer, an HP bag, cables and battery. All in all I have been delighted with this printer and recommend it to anyone who wants painless 6" X 4" printing on the go. ...

Advantages: Sooo easy to use Disadvantages: havent found any yet
I picked up this little machine with my shopping order in Tescos last week. it was on offer for £64.95 which is half the retail price. I brought it home with my 7 year old and plugged it in. In can be connected via computer, and all the software to do it came in the box but we went for the easy option which is just plug in and switch on! Setting up was just put in ink supplied...easy...put in paper...again easy....and then add memory card from camera ... ...a USB port) , again REALLY easy. All our pictures were displayed one by one on a screen so we had great fun deciding which ones to select. It was then just a case of pressing print! Again sooo easy! Only disadvantage was that it only came with 5 photosheets so an extra trip to Tesco was needed!
Refills for the macnine are £22.99 which (says on the box) can do about 100 prints. The refills do come with 100 sheets of paper so ready to go!
I have ...

Advantages: Size, convenience Disadvantages: not supplied with battery, quality
I went shopping one day with my girlfriend and just like her; she saw free food in a carphone warehouse and dragged me in. The food was to promote this printer and a new photo phone. So convinced by the nice lady we both filled in an entry for the competition. Well to cut the story down, not more than 5mins later I got a call and went to collect my prize and have my photo taken with the staff, prize in hand. As for the printer itself, it’s very compact ... ...a standalone printer. To edit pictures a computer is needed or its bigger brother the 375. It claims it’s completely portable but a wall socket is needed unless you buy a separate rechargeable battery for the printer which slots nicely into the base. The pictures themselves are adequate and for the convenience it’s worth it. Printing right to the edge of the paper and from a little distance in a frame they are not noticeable from a cheaper online ...

Advantages: cheap, easy to use, reliable, good quality prints Disadvantages: a little slow
For a camera and printer package that was purchased approximately four years ago (maybe five!) the printer has proven to be extremely reliable. It has been used as a dedicated photo printer for use when we wanted particular photographs from the digital camera as 'hard' copies for family and friends. It is easy to operate and in my opinion has all that anyone would need and want in a small printer to be used for the occasional run of photographs. ...
