I brought this camera for my wife just over 2 years ago, and although we have purchased a couple of other digital cameras since then, my wife still prefers the 435 to anything else we have. One of the main reasons is the ease of taking pictures, you don't have to have a degree in computer science to use it as the manual is straight foreward and very easy to follow, if thats not enough the cameras onboard memory has HELP sections under all the categories ...

Well done mum, the first one she's ever bought (for me as a Christmas present) and she got it right. This did surprise me a little as she is not all that technologically aware. This just shows, I think how foolproof this camera is as she also has one herself and never ceases to amaze me with the pictures she has taken with it and also managed to upload AND e-mail to me! She got this quality "Product of China" from PC World (she doesn't know anywhere ...
...but I'm thinking around £99. I've found the camera to be incredibly simple to use from the very first time I switched it on. There are menus to pick which features I want to use and just one button to press when I want to take a picture. Another digital camera? That's what my wife said when I ordered the HP435 (amazon.com). We already had one (an Olympus), unfortunately not too sturdy - and had to go to the repair shop twice in the first year we had it (we did tend to put it to rough use ;)). So rather than spend a further £80 for someone to look over the camera - decided to get one for everyday, slightly rougher use. Hence this - cost about £79 on amazon.com - not bad at all! Very ...

OK so my cousin won this from work, and we've borrowed it a few times now, to use in parties, going on holiday and all sorts. When my sister went to Italy, Rome, she used the camera and I thought it had excellent quality. On the camera the pictures may look a bit blurred but when you transfer them to your computer they are very good quality for 3.1 megapixels. The size is quite reasonable, it isnt very heavy, can probably fit into a small handbag ...
...but, when you get onto the menu, it can be quite confusing on where to go because of all the different buttons there are :S and the screen freezes sometimes, not sure if this happens for everyone but it has for me a few times, but that is a minor problem and has not caused any big problems. As a complete beginner with digital photographer, I found that I could very quickly get going with this camera. It's basic functions are incredibly easy to use and the clear instructions make the additional functions fairly straight forward as well. The camera has taken consistently good photos(and i've taken a lot of photos with it!!) and the batteries last well if not using live view mode all the time. On the whole, this is a very neat little camera with enough options and ideas to keep you interested, it is a good starter camera. The software which comes with it is also easy to use. On the down side, the battery life is terrible. In the first week of using it ( a christening and a birthday), I got through 8 Durracell batteries. Not good enough. Am now trying expensive rechargables. They seem to be better but have 6 spare batteries with me all ...
...the camera as all the family can use it easily and get good results. The best feature for me is the quick shutter. Briliant for taking running / action shots such as sports day. Also it works very well in dark surroundings with the built in flash although this does cane the batteries. ...

I'm a graphic designer and I've got an eye for clarity and this camera does give that. Everytime I took a photo I was never positive as I never knew what image I was going to get. Once I took a photo of a dog and when I saw it the grass wasn't even green it was purple, the clarity of the picture is crap, you could see all the pixels. Close up photos sometimes come out nice but with other photos there was always a shining clare in the pictures. ...
...But hey I don't believe in these reviews cause I was looking for another camera and some said the pictures are great and others said it was poor and the review for the HP435 has just proved to show that either people don't know what they are tallking about or just lying. The choice is yours ...
