...nice use of psychology by HP I might add. However, upon searching through the manual I can't find the technical specs for the quality settings. As far as I can tell, photos are always at the same resolution. The manual is another strange thing, they give 3 different versions for 3 languages, which is better than the rubbish combined ones most companies give you. However the other 2 languages are properly bound books, whilst English was stapled together, ... ...amazing at the "best" setting and, I suppose true to the label, is still good at the "good" setting. The pictures on this review were taken from my ski trip, all at the "good" setting. It has all that you'd expect to find in a camera, everything is there, and it's extremely simple to use. There's no point listing the features, they're pretty standard in cameras these days. All you need to know is it takes great pictures!

Firstly, let's dispel a myth about this camera, the battery life is excellent, provided you use rechargeables and don't try to get by on duracells. with 4 2500 AAs in my pocket I could shoot literally all day, provided I took a couple of spare SD cards with me.
THe camera is supplied with 2 Duracells, they lasted long enough to try the camera out for a dozen or so pictures.
The rear screen is OK indoors and in poor light but for a sunny day on ... ...useless, no matter, the optical view finder is top notch. My biggest complaint with the camera is the over long delay between pressing the button and the camera actually taking a picture, this lag caused me to miss quite a few good action shots, thus I have just replaced this camera. If you want a nice compact camera for Ebay photos, family groups or views this little gem will fit the bill. The other quibble, and it is a small one, is that HP, like ...

...come back to the trusty HP 735 because it does exactly what it says on the tin, is very reliable and hard to match for every day use. However, if its something a little more advanced then you will need something newer, as even mobile phones are surpassing this model in terms of video and sound and quality.

This is a very smart looking camera, it is silver coloured and it looks modern and stylish. There is also a screen on the back so you cna view the picture you have just taken and watch watch you are filming or taking a picture of. There is also a display on the top of the camera showing the battery level and how many more pictures you can take. It is fairly easy to use and it is quick to master what all the buttons do. Advantages: Pic qulity is fantastic, & the zoom function is first rate Disadvantages: it deos eat batterys.
First rate for the money, I spent a good few days looking for a decent camara to use for e-bay and for personal use.
I picked this one because of the high optical zoom, this is real zoom, not computer wizardry.
I take a lot of photos very close up for e-bay and this function keeps the quality high once on the net.
The zoom function is great
Picture quality is excelent.
As with all digi cams, action shots are impossible to catch because of the ... ...But thats what disposables are for I guess
The battery problem can be solved by using high mAh batterys (I use 2300mAh NiMH cells)
Try your local model shop for these.
They will cost you around £2 each for decent ones, but you get 5x the amount of operating time. ...

i upgraded from a kodak dc3200 1.3m pixel to this hp735 3.2 m pixel camera for the zoom capabilities but was surprised by all the other features, i have had the camera for two weeks and am still finding more things that the camera is capable of.
the first thing i will say is get more memory because 16mb of inbuilt is nowhere near enough i have got a 64mb and 128mb, you will find out later why.
this is a great point and shoot camera with 3 differant ... ...card and 817 shots on lowest quality. it has several modes timer, continious shooting, macro, sport, landscape, portrait, f2.6, f4.9 and auto.
the camera flash has auto, anti red eye, constant or off.the lcd is large and clear and the functions and options displayed are easy to understand and use.
now the reason for the memory upgrade i only realised after i bought the camera that it had a movie mode facility and the picture and sound quality is ...

I found this camera easy to use, with a good list of features including auto timed capture(which allowed me to set the camera up, press take and get into position), digital zoom, on screen photo display and the option for a memory stick. Using this cam for approximately one year I decided to replace it. Although it made nice pictures, I returned it to the shop because of its extreme battery use. When using the camera, I needed to take lots of penlights with me in order to have the possibilty to take pictures any moment i liked to. After taking 5 or 6 pictures the camera came up with a power alert. After aproximately 10 to 15 pictures the batteries supplied not enough power to operate ... ...left to use them for other devices as remotecontrols etc. For me as a person this was a much to big disadvantage, so I decided to replace this camera for another one.
I'm aware of the fact this is a short review. It's ment to complete the reviews of the other writers. I know this camera has a lot of technical and useful advantages, but the inefficient use of its power was enough reason for me to change the cam.
