Advantages: Excellent zoom & easy to use features
Disadvantages: Not the slimmest of cameras, bulky

Bought this camera during a sale and got it for £99. Have taken some excellent high quality photos with it in all kinds of conditions. The only quality loss can be noticed when using the digital zoom in dark conditions, it's basically a waste of time as the pictures turn out blurred and pixelated. this camer is slow at taking pictures and the picture's are poor some times on have lost a lot of pictures du to this

Knowing very little about digital cameras I decided to chance it with the photosmart m417 as it appeared to offer good value for money. I have found the camera very easy to use and idiot proof. I would recommend to only use the digital zoom with a tripod and purchase some re-chargable batteries as standard ones tend to run out rather quickly. This is a highly reliable digital camera that I have found invaluable. Produces great high def shots each time I find this invaluable whilst editing in Photoshop. Does gobble up the card space though. Comes with reasonable image editing software although I don't use it myself. Great for a person who is just starting of in the digital imaging world.
