I eat batteries, but I'm still good!
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by christopher_t_tran

Advantages: Easy to use, good software
Disadvantages: Drains batteries, not the prettiest

...to the different features, the HP M417 comes with all of the ones expected in a camera. The 7x digital zoom is more than sufficient for everyday use and is easy adjust. There are also some different shooting modes such as black and white, sepia, landscape, and action for different environments. The quality of the pictures is excellent and crystal clear. The camera also takes videos, which is another big plus. However, the MPEGs are not as crystal ... Read review

Bring Pictures To Life
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by rufnek2k4

Advantages: Breathtaking Quality in pics, easy to use, light,
Disadvantages: Poor video quality

I bought this camera off eBay a few months ago. It was the best value for money at the time and the fact that it was Hewlett Packard made it more tempting to buy. Nearly everything else i have is HP, scanner, printer, computer and they have never given me any problems. The parcel arrived a few days after the auction ending and i was surprised with all the extras that came with it. There was a small tripod stand with the legs moveable so you can position ... HP M417
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by Kate987123

Advantages: Compact, Very Easy to use
Disadvantages: Flash takes a few secs to load

I bought this a few weeks ago as I needed a camera quickly because I was going to a concert and obviously wanted to take some good pics. I didn't have a very big budget so settled for this model from Ebuyer.co.uk for approx £75 I had read mixed reviews so was a little concerned but overall I am very pleased with its performance. The camera is 5.2megapixels which, I believe, is high for the price. Many cameras around this price only have 3-4mp. ... Read review

Excellent photo quality for the price
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by Kevmeister

Advantages: Excellent zoom & easy to use features
Disadvantages: Not the slimmest of cameras, bulky

Bought this camera during a sale and got it for £99. Have taken some excellent high quality photos with it in all kinds of conditions. The only quality loss can be noticed when using the digital zoom in dark conditions, it's basically a waste of time as the pictures turn out blurred and pixelated. The video quality is also very good in light conditions, with a reasonably clear quality of audio to support it. Menu is full of features including ... Read review

For the price...
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by rtaylor3210

Advantages: On-camera help and tips; useful Adaptive Lighting technology to brighten dark areas; red-eye removal.
Disadvantages: Mediocre performance; no speaker for voice annotation or video playback.

...effects on that small screen. Finally, HP Instant share, This is a handy thing to have if your on holiday and take a picture, you can set it to print or e-mail to someone as soon as you hood it up to your computer. So once you hook it up, it will send pictures to anyone you have asked it to, or print them off! Overall for the price, you really can't go wrong. I've been happy 90% of the time using this camera. ... Read review

exellent pictures
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by mojobaggie

Advantages: good camera , good focus
Disadvantages: battery doesnt last long even when recharged

a good camera, small and stylish , light weight and easy to use the picture quality is exellent, the only disadvantage is that the batterys dont last long, even when you use rechargable ones i have brought this camera with the printer doc, which is shocking , as its so small and compact just like the camera its good how you can alter the pictures taken after, such as getting rid of red eye and zooming on a certain part of the photo and printing ... Easy to use camera
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by flamesnm

Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: none found yet

Knowing very little about digital cameras I decided to chance it with the photosmart m417 as it appeared to offer good value for money. I have found the camera very easy to use and idiot proof. I would recommend to only use the digital zoom with a tripod and purchase some re-chargable batteries as standard ones tend to run out rather quickly. When I did have a slight problem HP's online assistance was very helpful and efficient. Using the SD card ... Read review

Very highly reccomended.
Review of HP PhotoSmart M417 by 04s2lao

Advantages: Very easy to use. User Interface very friendly
Disadvantages: Seems to eat batteries. (May be me using wrong type!)

This is a highly reliable digital camera that I have found invaluable. Produces great high def shots each time I find this invaluable whilst editing in Photoshop. Does gobble up the card space though. Comes with reasonable image editing software although I don't use it myself. Great for a person who is just starting of in the digital imaging world. The in camera red eye removal I find invaluable as it allows me to make any picture of a person look ... Read review
