Advantages Advantages Excellent connectivity to digital cameras, very good print quality, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages erm none, not much point getting if you don't have or plan to have a digital camera

I got this printer over a year ago now. I believe it had only just been released then and it is the perfect complement to any digital camera (I’ll get to why in a sec). I bought mine bundled with a HP C200 camera which has also served me well (I’ll review that next week as my parents have got it on holiday with them in Switzerland at the moment) What it looks like, well its black, a break from the normal beige of most printers. Has a standard front-loading paper tray and has a slot for small photo sized paper (If your daft/lazy enough to buy it, since it is much cheaper to buy A4 ... more

Advantages Advantages can print from your camera without switching on your PC

    Disadvantages Disadvantages price of ink

When I purchased my Mesh computer back in June 2001, I also purchased as part of my bundle, a Hewlett Packard Photosmart 1000printer. This has proved itself to be one of the few things I have not lived to regret buying from Mesh. It cost me £194 including delivery in the bundle. The printer is black and grey in colour, measures about 15 inches by 16 inches square and about 8 inches high. It’s quite light for its size and fits nicely on top of a plastic filing box I have on my desk. It comes complete with a cable, a user guide booklet that has 64 pages of information. It also has a large poster ... more

Advantages Advantages Quiet, and good quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages price of acessories

I have been shopping around to find a good quality photo printer at a reasonable price, and the Hp p1000 is superb for just £200. It prints great quality scanned pictures at 2400x1200 dpi (dots per inch), and it is very user friendly. This inkjet printer comes with everything appart from the printer cable, but that can be bought almost anywhere for £10. The software which comes with it is very easy to use and install, and the printer comes with a paralel port lead, so it can be easily connected to your pc (and for those mac users, a USB lead can be picked up easily. The instructions for ... more

This printer is really aimed at the home user and those people with a digital camera. the HP PhotoSmart P1000 allows you to photo print directly from a digital camera without using a PC, which is an exellent feature. It also features fast downloading of camera memory to a PC and HP's PhotoREt III Precision technology to bring print quality up to the standards of traditional photographs. This is another brilliant feature and the quality is amazing. Witha resolution of 2400 x 1200dpi, the printer pronts 11 pages per minute mono and 8.5 pages per minute in colour. It features a low ink indicator ... more

Advantages Advantages Takes digital camera memory card

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I was recommended this printer by a friend and when I failed to get replace cartridge for my Lexmark Z51 I just went out and bought it instead! An expensive alternative I know, but I was so impressed with the quality of the photo prints I just had to have one! So what did I want from this printer that my previous colour printer failed to produce, or which my current laser black and white couldn't offer? I basically wanted good/top quality hard copy prints that I had taken from my digital camera. My previous printer only printed at 1200 x 600 dpi so any images I had taken with my camera were ... more

After have read reviews on the HP1000 photosmart printer I decided that I would invest in the newer HP1218 photosmart printer. As before Hewlett Packard have produced a printer of excellent quality for both text and photographs. The printer can be used as a standalone printer not requiring a PC to operate it, two slots on the side of the printer allow both compact flash and smartmedia cards to be inserted straight from the digital cameras. An easy to view and use LCD panel allows the user to select the size of print required then at the touch of one button your prints appear beautifully printed ... more

    Advantages Advantages none

Disadvantages Disadvantages cost and value for money

i got a lexmark z22/z32 printer in january 2001 along with a computer and scanner for my daughters school work. the computer is fine, my complaint is about the printer cartridges. in the computer package there was only a high resolution colour print casrtridge, there was no black and white ink cartridge. that has to be bought seperately at the cost of £28 a cartridge. what i want to know why lexmark do not supply both cartridges for free in with the printer. they are cutting their costs and making a profit at our expense. i got a cartridge with my computer in january and i needed to replace it ... more

    Advantages Advantages Speed, Quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Cost of ink

A superb printer which produces excellent quality results in a short time, with printing speeds comparable with that of a laser printer, and with less warm up time - up to 11ppm (8.5ppm in colour, although the majority of lasers printers are black & white anyway). Quality is just as good - delivering crisp, laser quality text at an ample 600dpi in black, with up to 2400x1200 dpi in colour for photo-quality results on the proper (photo) paper, with no seperate/expensive photo cartidges to worry about. Plain paper quality is great aswell, excellent for schoolwork which has been my main use for ... more
