Adhesive mistake

Advantages: Previews of the scanned image/document, ability to adjust image
Disadvantages: The disc no longer works and we had problems with the cable

...We have now owned the HP Scan Jet 4400c for about 3 years now and it served us well until we bought another computer. The problem occurred very stupidly and was nothing technically wrong – just adhesively wrong. The disc to install this scanner onto a computer had a paper casing which had been glued down. When we installed it into our first computer, we tucked the flap inside and unfortunately the glue stuck to the disc and ruined it. We visited ...
...and very easy to understand. HP have made this easy for those and the instructions are easy to follow which means we were able to get using it quite quickly. The software includes Precision Pro but what was good was the chance to view the document, being able to adjust it and then finally scan it again. There are various options for changing the attributes and colouring e.g. greyscale etc. You are also able to choose what kind of document you are ...

...at school I purchased this HP Scan Jet (Jet sounds fast) to help me with my coursework. I needed to scan in a few documents everyday. These ranged from basic word documents to newspaper articles. USB means the scanner can send the information to the computer a lot faster and plug and play is more likely to find the device, which it did. My first item I needed to scan was a letter for my Business Studies coursework. I turned the scanner on and pressed ...
...two minutes later my document was on the computer. At the time I had around a 1.8ghz computer with 512mb RAM and a 40 GB HDD, a very good computer. So why did it take so long? Well that's what I wanted to know. I plugged the scanner into another computer and still the same problem. So I knew the problem wasn't my PC or software so what could I do next? Well I took the scanner to my cousins house and tried it on their computer and still the same problem. ...

Good!

Advantages: very good quality scanning
Disadvantages: somewhat sentitive on red tones

This is my second HP scanner, after having used for years a SCSI HP ScanJet 5p. I bought this A4 size scanner along with my Dell desktop a couple of years ago. I am very happy with it. It's USB, Windows XP autoinstalls it, Windows 2000 needs the drivers. Drivers can also be found on HP site. I never had any direct contact with technical /customer service, so I can't say. It has 4 buttons on the front panel, can also email documents directly. The ...
...for making photocopies too. It's a 2-scan machine, it scans a preview first, you can change parameters (greyscale, truecolour, 256 colours, black and white bitmap etc.) and you can select the whole image or only part of it. It can scan into Photoshop, Word and other programmes too. Resolution oprions are 75, 100, 200, 600, 1200 and 2400. You can chose language for OCR text. These values can be changed in the Scan>Preferences menu. Image can be resized, ...
