Advantages: Awesome screen, low price. Disadvantages: Random crashes, poor software support, no full reset
I agree with the reviewer that the speaker is poor and the synthesized voice is not the best. I also get some wrong directions e.g. 'Turn right at the about' when it's actually straight on or left. However the worst thing about the Ipaq 314 companion is that it crashes randomly whilst driving! Instead of recovering your route it then requires re-selecting and has the audacity to display a message telling you not to operate it whilst driving which ... ...screen! The software update process is fraught with difficulty even for the tech-expert and can result in an unrecoverable device. There is no 'back to factory defaults' reset so if you haven't managed a backup (by no means certain) you will have to return the device to the factory.
All the above is a real shame because it's a beautiful device and the 3D/2D scroll wheel would be a joy if the machine would leave the zoom where you put it! ...

Advantages: Great screen and compact unit Disadvantages: Navigation, sound, no access to standard windows screen to load tomtom!
...3d, a real disappointment and hp are not putting mind at ease by saying the 3d coverage will get better. Cannot understand what the voice commands are saying, speaker is also poor and distorted. The map keeps reverting back to 2d mode when driving for no reason, this is dangerous as I have to keep finding the 3d button. Outlook and media player are not pre-installed & need to be down loaded but cant 'cause hp website will not allow me to register. ...
