Advantages: Good quality. Real strawberries - does this count towards my "5 a day"? Disadvantages: Expensive. High in fat and calories.
Häagen-Dazs. I always thought this meant something deep and meaningful in one or other of the Scandinavian languages, something professing the wonders of an ancient Nordic ice cream tradition. Today, whilst doing a little background reading for this review, I have found out that this belief is completely and utterly wrong. Häagen-Dazs is American. Häagen-Dazs is a nonsense word, meaning nothing at all, made up by some marketer who thought it sounded ... ...than Ben and Jerry’s, but hardly ancient or traditional. In fact, it has only been available to us Brits since 1987, despite international distribution beginning back in 1982. Perhaps this is because the Americans think we are boring and unadventurous in our ice cream choices over here. Mind you, given that the best selling flavours in the UK are vanilla and chocolate though, it seems maybe they were right in this! Still, the flagship Leicester Square ...

Advantages: Creamy ice cream, real strawberry pieces, biscuit pieces Disadvantages: The price, the calories and fat content!!
I first came across Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Flavour Ice Cream when one of my friends bought it round when we were having a DVD night and to be honest, nearly every time I settle down for the evening to watch a DVD, this ice cream comes out.
About Haagen-Dazs
Haagen-Dazs is unsurprisingly an American Brand and wasn't actually available to buy in the UK until 1987. Haagen-Dazs actually only started out with three flavours: vanilla, chocolate ... ...gold in colour which is Haagen-Dazs colours. The lid is black and so is the band that runs around the middle of the tub. The Haagen-Dazs logo is written on the front of the tub, and the flavour is written on the black band. There is also a picture of a few strawberries on the front.
Price
I tend to buy this ice cream at Tesco where it costs £3.78 for a 500ml tub so compared to other ice creams, it's a bit more expensive but worth every penny. Occasionally ...

Advantages: Delicious flavour, rich, creamy and more-ish! Disadvantages: It's not raspberry and it's expensive!
When I go to the cinema, I just HAVE to have ice cream. Ben and Jerry’s is my favourite, but Haagen Dazs comes a close second, which is just as well because two out of three of the cinemas I regularly visit have Haagen Dazs cafes! One of my favourite flavours is Strawberry Cheesecake. This is surprising really because I have never been a huge fan of strawberries themselves (not in the way that some people enthuse over them!), let alone strawberry ... ...sickly and have a taste all of their own which is nothing like strawberries! Haagen Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream is another matter entirely!
The ice cream itself is creamy and fairly plain. I wouldn’t say it was vanilla as it doesn’t have a strong vanilla taste, and has the slight sharpness of cheesecake. This is ideal for me, as I have always loved cheesecake, but since becoming a vegetarian I rarely get to have cheesecakes as the majority ...

...op, with my tub of Haagen-Dazs Strawberry cheesecake perched on the table, my cat is peering up at my treat eager to get the leftovers (what a horrible word). I am half way through some really strenuous “revision”, and my mum will do anything to keep me happy, and more to the point, keep me working. Yesterday I seized advantage of her vulnerability, and asked for a tub of Haagen-Dazs, to keep my energy levels up you see. It was a bit of a far fetched ... ...to this, and every other Haagen-Dazs in the whole country. That is, of course, the price. For a tub of this ice cream, my poor Mummy was made £2.89 poorer. It took me three-quarters of an hour to finish it off, meaning that the indulgence was an expensive one, at £3.60 an hour! And I know, it is, quite frankly, disgustingly greedy to eat a whole tub in one go, but I did it for Ciao, and the purpose of this review, so I think it is fair. I think, ...

Advantages: A nice creamy mix of Strawberry, Pecan Cookie and ice cream Disadvantages: Becomes very sickly after too much
I’m finding it pretty hard to write music ops at the moment, just haven’t got the time to do them, but I am managing to work my way through old half started ops that just need little bits adding to them to finish them off. This of course in one such op on Strawberry Cheesecake flavoured Haagen Dazs.
Now to be perfectly honest I am not usually one to buy expensive ice cream like your Carte D’or, Haagen Dazs or Ben & Jerry’s. I prefer your common ... ...pizza from Pap Johns I got a tub of ice cream free with it and as they only do Haagen Dazs I decided to go for this flavour. So liking Cheesecake and Strawberry’s I really couldn’t go wrong. So having made myself comfortable in front of the Tele, I finished off the pizza and moved onto the desert. The tubs pretty simple holds about 500ml of ice cream and would normally have set me back the princely sum of almost £4. Now this does sound rather expensive ...

Advantages: Different from the usual Disadvantages: expensive
I have been reading all the opinions on different Haagen Dazs ice creams so I thought I would add one of my favourites. The strawberry cheesecake variety of this brand is as rich and luxurious as its counterparts but just that little bit different from the usual chocolate or toffee type offerings.
This variety features cheesecake flavoured ice cream with ripples of strawberry puree running through it and little bits of the cruched biscuit base you ... ...cream is creamy but not to sweet as it has the tang of a really good cheesecake and this is balanced by a touch of sweetness in the strawberry puree. However, my favourite bit has to be the crunchy bits of biscuit base hiding in the ice cream but then that is my favourite bit in a cheesecake anyway!
This ice cream is ideal, I have found, for sharing with your best mate over a coffee and a really good gossip in the garden on a sunny afternoon. It ...

Advantages: Smooth.. VERY SMOOTH, Rich, Thick, Doesn't melt easily, Dense Disadvantages: Only worth getting if on offer, Very fattening, Dwarfed by Italian Ice cream
If you find Ben and Jerry's sickly, and lacking in natural flavours, Haagen Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream is a pretty good alternative.
Like Ben and Jerry's, Haagen Dazs comes in a titchy tub, is smooth, creamy and rich, upmarket and comes from America.
You'll never believe how densely packed it is. There's more than enough for 3 people in a tub, and it's perfectly adequate for 4 people. It's a good choice of dessert at dinner parties, while ... ...fat-kid-at-the-cinema.
The tub I'm reviewing is a 500ml/430g one, currently on offer at Somerfield. You can get 2 different flavoured tubs for £2. The tub in question is just a tad over the size of a large man's fist. (Sorry for the vague comparison)
Looking front-on, the tub uses 2 main colours for its theme: dark red, and a sort of dull, unshiny gold colour. Above the dark red "wave" there is a sort of indescribable pattern which closest resemblance ...

...was first introduced to the HAAGEN-DAZS STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE ICE CREAM by a friend,Thanks Von,whilst at my local cinema.
She very highly recommended it to me,so I simply couldn't say no.

Haagen-Dazs has got to be the very best ice cream I have had the privilege of tasting.
The only problems are I would have to take out a bank loan to cope with my addiction,if it wasn't for my great control.
And I want more and more and more...but simply can't afford it!
All together now...Awww!
The packaging is pretty and it's great that it comes complete with little spoon, very handy. ...

Oh my good lord I have died and gone to heaven and heaven, my lovely friends, is a tub of Haagen Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream. I had always heard so much about then famous brand of Haagen Dazs and was curious to know what was so great about their ice creams. While I was going for all the local brands and found the ice creams wuite good, I was intrigued and wanted to try this just once. Advantages: Gorgeous taste, Creamy texture, Consistenly high quality Disadvantages: Probably healthier to eat a whole cheescake than a tub of this
Where to begin, when reviewing Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake?
Well firstly, unlike a lot of ice creams I can think of, Haagen-Dazs is actually what it claims to be - Ice CREAM. It's made with fresh cream and lots of it, and you can really tell from the taste/texture that the main ingredient isn't something like "Reconstituted Skimmed-Milk Powder". Packaging - As always with Haagen-Dazs, the scarlet tub looks appealing and (reassuringly) expensive. ... ...plastic cover, emblazoned with Haagen-Dazs over and over.
First Impressions - The ice cream looks creamy and attractive, mostly off-white with specks of golden biscuit and red swirls of strawberry. The sweet vanilla smell with a hint of strawberry is always mouthwatering. Although it melts quite slowly due to the high cream content, I find it dificult to resist until it's soft enough to scoop out properly, because.........
Taste - Sublime. The ...

Advantages: It gorgeous! Disadvantages: It's expensive :(
It's not something I can afford very often, but whenever I can, Haagan Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake ice-cream is THE treat to go for. It is heavenly. Of course, most people think I would rave about anything strawberry flavoured, since I have quite a passion for strawberries, but that's not true. Most strawberry flavoured desserts taste of anything but strawberries, and I would much rather have the real thing, but Strawberry cheesecake ice-cream? That's ... ...soft, and the manufactuors have put just the right amount of biscuit base in - instead of filling up with the cheapest ingredient. But the bit that makes this ice-cream worthy of praise from the self-confessed strawberryholic is that amazing strawberry ripple - huge quantities of it running though the whole tub, and tasting like pure crushed strawberries. It is the only ice-cream that I would sully fresh strawberries with - and that's high praise ...

After eating a rather nice chicken & lentil curry I would kind of expect the pudding to be ice cream. It goes without saying after a vindaloo or something an ice cream would be a good dessert idea but mabye my mouth is particularly sensitive to hot foods because my curry loving freind did not seem to think like this at all, and you will see why if you ever try the stuff. It's ice cream all right, but not the light, sedate kind I was exepecting. Strawberry ... ...eat after a curry. However, the quality of it is good and it's made with real strawberrys. The taste, compared to some brand's flavour's i' ve had, is pleasent though not as moreish as the others. The texture is also nice, encouraged by the peices of biscuit crumbled in. One disidvantage is that it is high in calories and fat, and is definitlly not good for you. Mabye if the pudding had been slightly lighter and more cream I would have enjoyed it ...
