Advantages Advantages Astounding value for money, Half-Life 2 is superb, diverse first person gameplay

Disadvantages Disadvantages Half-Life 2's graphics *slightly* dated, Team Fortress 2 - some lag from time to time

Look inside The Orange Box... The Orange Box is a rather ambiguous title for a game, giving very little clue as to the game's contents. If you have not heard of this game before, you might be surprised to find that it does not, to my knowledge, feature any actual orange boxes. What it does feature is an abundance of diverse quality content, spread over what is advertised as being five separate games for the normal retail price of a standard game. In fact, it is more like three and a half games, but this is more than enough to justify labelling The Orange Box the best deal in video game history ... more

Advantages Advantages Massive amounts of gameplay variety and fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages TF2 is dissapointing considering what the PC version is like.

One of the best games I own by far. I purchased the Orange box for £25 out of GAME, and the sheer variety of the contents make this an excellent, well rounded package. It consists of: Half-Life 2, A rich and immersive shooter, Half-Life 2: Episodes One and Two, two extensions to the Half Life game roughly doubling the amount of play you will get from the Half-Life 2 series, Team Fortress 2: An excellent online FPS following up the huge hit of its predecessor And last but by far not least; Portal: The black horse of the bunch, a refreshing new take on the way that the player thinks about games ... more

Advantages Advantages Choice of 5 games, TF2 Online is brilliant, HL2 and its episodes are pure gold, Portal.

Disadvantages Disadvantages HL2 is slightly outdated (Based on the 2004 source engine.), Portal physics are a little glitchy.

WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS The Orange Box is an epic compilation of 5 of the best games of all time. It consists of Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episodes One and Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2. In my opinion it is the best compilation of games ever. Half Life 2 Valve have outdone themselves, yet again. The Half Life game series, in my opinion, is the best series of games ever. The story line is brilliant and continues from the end of Half Life perfectly. The Combine finally have control over the earth and there are only a few groups of people who are resisting the change. You ... more

Advantages Advantages 5 games in 1, immersive gameplay

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Outdated Graphics

This game has a reputation for being the best bargain in gaming history and I must say it lives upto the reputation, 5 games in one is a hard deal to beat, first of all you get the classic Half-Life 2 which is worth the whole cost alone, the graphics may be a outdated but the gameplay is phenomenal and has a great expansive storyline which will immerse you into the game for hours. The game also includes Half-life 2 :episode 1 and 2 which further expands onto the story of Gordan Freeman. The other 2 games included are Team Fortress 2 which is an amazing multiplayer experience which allows you ... more

    Advantages Advantages The price!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Portal a bit short and team fortress doesnt have a single player mode

This ia a wonderfull product and offer, it contains 4 games, 3 of which are part of the half life series, which would be a great offer with just these 3, Portal and team fortress are wondefull, portal is a puzzle game which although is a bit on the short side is amazing, i have never played or seen another game quite like it. Team fortress brings a new aspect to online game play, (unfortunatley there is no offline mode so you need xbox live gold to play) you play as one of many characters on a team, each has there own specialities and help towards winning for example the engineer can setup ... more

Advantages Advantages great value and game play

Disadvantages Disadvantages there are no drawbacks!!

well we all know how amazing the origonal half life was!!!! half life had amazing game play with an exciting and first person shooter action and also had a fantastic array of weapons!! the first half life had everything u needed in a first person shooter and the only draw backs were that the graphics were a bit iffy. Now comes half life episode 2 and it has all the positive points of the origonal half life and they have improved the graphics!!! half life 2 is an amazing game! and if u team it up with team fortress 2 which in its self is an amazing game aswell it gives u fantastic value for ... more

Advantages Advantages Value for money, Fun and just amazing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Half life get s abit dull in the end

When I first bought this game, I didn't really know what to expect. But from the second i put the game in the drive, i was captivated. Half life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, and Half Life 2 Episode 2, are all fantastic games with excelllent in depth storylines, fully fleshed out characters and some truely innovative weapons, such as the gravity gun, which has to be the best weapon in any game. Team Fortress 2 is a great fun xbox live mulitplayer game, although the lobbys look a little poor compared to games such as Halo 3. But the best has been saved untill last. Portal is the best and most ... more

Advantages Advantages Three games for a very good price, two less discs to contend with, hours of fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages Needs Xbox Live for Team Fortress 2 otherwise one game is made redundant

Considering the fact that these three games on their own could cost a possible £7 or so each, getting the Orange Box for around £14 is a very good deal. All these games are easy to play and fun, and are all classics in their own rights. There's a great range of game genre diversity; Half Life being a mix of FPS (first person shooter) and puzzles, Portal being a puzzle based game and Team Fortress 2 being a fun multiplayer shooter, there is pretty much a game to suit most moods. As there are three games on one disc, there are also less cases cluttering the place and less discs to misplace or ... more
