Halford's is the shop I've been going to ever since passing my test and got my first beloved car (Renault Clio). As i walk into Halford's i always get excited because I'm a car fanatic and always have been since childhood. There's just so much to do with cars under one roof from car parts and spares such as bulbs, wiper blades and batteries etc, including stuff Ive never even heard of myself ha ha. As I'm quite young and this is my first car i wanted to do a bit to it to make it look nicer though I'm not a boy racer as you would appear to think. (I Just like the physical looks, more the ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow service

Last Friday was not a good day in our house. Not only were we told the very sad news that one of my cats has a serious heart murmur, and has to have investigations imminently, but on the way back from the vets my husband received a work call on his mobile, and we decided to pull over on the way home in our local shopping area for a few minutes to deal with it. With two cats in the back we wanted to get home before the meowing got too much, but when we came to start the engine again it wouldn't even turn over in the slightest, despite having driven on our local A12, which is a fast road only ... more

Advantages Advantages Most items in stock

Disadvantages Disadvantages Prices can be beaten elsewhere

Halfords are a well kown shop for selling a range of goods like In car entertainment, car parts, bikes and anything travel related. My girlfreind and myself decided to have a weekend at the Lake District last year. As per usual, we were unorganised and didn't book a hotel, we just decided to find one when we arrived. This didn't exactly go to plan, every single place we tried was full, as we were living in London at the time, we didn't fancy driving back! My girlfriend was starting to stress, so i suggested we went into halfords and buy a tent, it beats sleeping in the car! We bought a small ... more

Advantages Advantages good prices and choice for bikes and related accessories

Disadvantages Disadvantages shop assistants are clueless and do not give good customer service

I was looking to purchase a bicycle last summer and after a bit of shop-around I decided to buy it at Halfords because they had a sale and because their shop is not too far from where I live. I bought a hybrid bicycle, Apollo Highway for £200 and it was normally selling for £350 so a good deal. Apollo Highway is Halfords home-brand and I believe is the second to last cheapest bike they sell. Although the sale went smoothly, the assistants had a limited knowledge of bicycles and they were always in short staff. I was puzzled by three things while chatting with the assistant: 1) the prop-up ... more

Whenever I have problems with my car, after getting frustrated and annoyed, I calm down and decide to visit my nearest Halfords store. Halfords can normally be found tucked away in an industrial estate. They sell all sorts of goods, such as accessories for cars, motor bikes and pedal bikes. I recently had a problem with one of my rear fog lights on my car, so immediately drove over to Halfords, before it got foggy. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else, which demonstrates just how popular Halfords has become. On entering the store I headed straight for the car lights, which was easy to find ... more

Advantages Advantages If you're tired of living, get a service from Halfords and you'll soon be roadkill.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, Appalling service, Amateur staff

I only went in to get my front gears tweaked. A 5 minute job, that ended up taking 24 hours and costing £30. On leaving the shop, the gears slipped, injuring my shoulder and hurting my groin on a busy road. I could have been killed. Went back to the shop. Took 5 minutes to get served, even though there were no customers. Noone apologised. I was told there was no mechanic in the shop that day. After a call to head office, one miraculously appeared. He told me that my chainset needed replacing. Another £60. Another day without a bike. I got it back. Now a third of my gears are unuseable. Took it ... more

    Advantages Advantages None...whatsoever

Disadvantages Disadvantages Customer Service, Poor after-sales service, Hostile staff

My experience with Halfords can be described as atrocious , dreadful and horrendous. The staff are by far the most incompetent and rude individuals that you can come across, my dreadful experience occurred when I had to return an item which had parts missing from the actual package. The staff member was outrageously rude, hostile and aggressive and after countering her nonsense with common sense, she had the audacity to refuse to serve me and requested for a colleague to take over. The colleague was present and obediently took the same hostile approach, he then quipped “…you know what I don’t ... more
