I'm not sure i'm in the right place here. Halfords I have known for many years and visited quite a few of their stores. I have used the online pages to see if they stock what I want and the online stuff works great, does what it says on the tin, so to speak. Recently had the O/S dipped headlamp bulb blow. Bought a pair of H7 blue tint replacments from Halfords. After replacing bulbs the light pattern emmited was horrendous. (Did not really want to go plane spotting at night) Checked the orientation of the bulbs and even adjusted the beam height. Could not get these little buggers to show right. I ended up having to go to a Mercedes dealership for the genuine article which in the end were cheaper ...

Halford's online - Best avoided I bought a SatNav TomTom 530 advertised with a 'Free £20 Voucher'. They never sent the voucher, nor provided the advetised web price. They have no concept of 'Customer Service' and ignored my emails, and my telephone messages. They only finally called me back after I called the office of Paul McClenaghan, Director. Then, they demanded I return the SatNav to a local Halford's store for a full credit, and buy back ...
...What a way to do business? This was too much hassle for me (to put right THEIR error). They finally agreed to send the Voucher on condition that I paid them £3.11 on my credit card!!! I will avoid Halfords online, in the future. Buy your SatNav at Dixons, it's now only £152 delivered. ...

Reserve & Collect I found the actual online experience pleasing, it was simple to use and fairly quick. It quickly became a different matter when I came to collect my items. One item was not actually available in-store. After showing the assistant my confirmation print they advised me, that particular item has been discontinued. I had only orderred it 1 hour prior! Needless to say I will not be using this service again. The idea of reserve & collect is to save you a wasted journey... not the case here!!! ...

Having had several "used" cars which at some point or another required repairs and parts I used to use Halfords an awful lot until I discovered local part centres that deal with the "trade" and with joe public. I needed to purchase a Head Gasket set fro a Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6 and Halfords were after about £35 for one. After ringing round I managed to find one for £15 and guess what they were from the same manufacturer and would have been delivered ...
...I was able to pick up the set from the Motor Factors 3 hours later and yet Halfords told me it would be the next day or possibly 2 days. Halfords generally use these companies and their mark up is usually well above 130% the price they actually pay. Plus you may have to wait 2 - 3 dAYS with Halfords but direct from the Motor Factors usually takes from a few hours to next day. I and my wife bought 2 bikes from halfod, the service was great at the beginning till they had our money.then problems started with the 2 bikes, been back to halford 3 times and guess what. nothing been done!!!! i have seen people lie but nothing like the staff in halford. and there excuss is we are v busy. I too had the same problem using halfords reserve and collect service. I placed my order online at the lower price got a reservation number for the local store and when i got there an hour later they had sold it. Very poor service and a waste of money travelling. Halfords should not offer the collect in store service unless they intend to allocate the item. ...

However, after initially being impressed with the price and speed at which the product was dispatched, I have had nothing but trouble. Money was taken out of my account on dispatch, but apparently DHL lost the parcel. Halfords couldn't dispatch another until DHL had confirmed this, which took about a week. Halfords are diabolical. Ordered Tomtom for a christmas present and paid for premium next day delivery. Address label was missing key address information but did have correct post code.. courier simply returned package to depot and marked incorrect addresss/address not found, courier claimed contacted Halfords who insisted address was correct. No attempt to contact me, had to travel 80 miles to collect package to be sure to get it for Christmas. Emailed Halfords on 5 occassions chasing delivery but got no response at all. ...

After waiting for 15 minutes before I got any service and then being told that both of the bikes I wanted were out of stock, I settled for buying one off the shop floor.
