    Halfords is a all round auto store that stocks everything for your vehicle from paints to spark plugs It has a good range of out door equipment for camping like tents, stoves, sleeping bags, trailers and much more. They have a large selection of mountain bikes for men, women and children aswell as all the safety equipmet you will need such as helmets, gloves, knee pads and reflective clothing. They have a brilliant car audio section where they sell lots of different brands of stereos in a wide variety of price ranges aswell as amps, subs, speakers and all the wireing to connect them.     Advantages Advantages If you want your time wasted and the product not to work buy from halfords

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No empathy , no customer satisfaction, will never buy from again

    The product I bough was a Boardman Road Bike Team Carbon from what was my local store in Inverness. The bike was the most expensice one they had and as I do a lot of cycling and was off to uni and it was to be my main transport for the next 3 years. Bike looked really nice on the shop floor Paid for the bike and was told I could collect 4 days later. When I initally turned up to collect the bike I was looked at blankly by the two shop assistants who had no idea about the bike or that I was coming to collect it and they were ment to have it built and safety checked ready to go.     The reason for the title is because in our opinion, Halfords have a great variety on offer, lording over similar shops but whilst happy to sell to us, were not so keen to put any more effort than that in. Therefore renamed half lords. But more about our experience later. Halfords shops are often found on Retail Parks, and are well known for selling car parts and bikes. But what else do they sell? Basically anything to do with cars and travelling. If you want new windscreen wipers, go to Halfords, a new exhaust, go to Halfords, a car seat for your toddler, go to Halfords, a new map and picnic ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Products keep getting 'lost in the post'. Customer Service couldn't care less

    Ordered a TomTom720 from halfords.com mid Jan, as the price using an online code was very competitive. However, after initially being impressed with the price and speed at which the product was dispatched, I have had nothing but trouble. Money was taken out of my account on dispatch, but apparently DHL lost the parcel. Halfords couldn't dispatch another until DHL had confirmed this, which took about a week. Eventually Halfords sent out another, but, you've guessed it, that one went missing too!!! Still waiting for DHL confirm they've lost it (have been waiting a week!) so apparently Halfords ... more

    We bought the Apollo Rampage suspension bike as a Christmas present. It was bought packaged for self assembly. I proceeded to assemble it on Christmas Eve following the simple instructions supplied. It took me less than one hour. However, it soon became apparent that there was a problem with the rear wheel and gears which were wrongly aligned in the factory. This made it impossible for the bike to be ridden. This caused dissappointment all around. However, the service received by Halfords superstore in Wrexham, North Wales as a result of this is to be commended. They immediately changed the ... more

    I bought my nephew a top of the range bike from Halford with all the safety equipment for a bargain £150.00, which is so cheap, compared to the prices they were asking for in town. I took him down and he looked around, saw one, and then we bought it. The staff were so helpful they checked and looked around for a bike that was suitable both for him and my wallet. I’m glad to say that he loves it, and thanks to Halfords I know he has a present that he is happy with.     I'm not sure i'm in the right place here. Halfords I have known for many years and visited quite a few of their stores. I have used the online pages to see if they stock what I want and the online stuff works great, does what it says on the tin, so to speak. I recently needed to buy a new aluminium flight case for my camera gear and after trailing round a few places in Sittingbourne I had not found one that wasnt either to dear or not at all..     Having had several "used" cars which at some point or another required repairs and parts I used to use Halfords an awful lot until I discovered local part centres that deal with the "trade" and with joe public. I needed to purchase a Head Gasket set fro a Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6 and Halfords were after about £35 for one. After ringing round I managed to find one for £15 and guess what they were from the same manufacturer and would have been delivered to them from the same place I got them from. I was able to pick up the set from the Motor Factors 3 hours later and yet Halfords told me it would ... more

    Halfords are diabolical. Ordered Tomtom for a christmas present and paid for premium next day delivery. Address label was missing key address information but did have correct post code.. courier simply returned package to depot and marked incorrect addresss/address not found, courier claimed contacted Halfords who insisted address was correct. No attempt to contact me, had to travel 80 miles to collect package to be sure to get it for Christmas. Emailed Halfords on 5 occassions chasing delivery but got no response at all.

    Halford's online - Best avoided I bought a SatNav TomTom 530 advertised with a 'Free £20 Voucher'. They never sent the voucher, nor provided the advetised web price. They have no concept of 'Customer Service' and ignored my emails, and my telephone messages. They only finally called me back after I called the office of Paul McClenaghan, Director. Then, they demanded I return the SatNav to a local Halford's store for a full credit, and buy back another which they would ensure came with a £20 voucher. What a way to do business?
