Hi and welcome to my Halo 3 review. Since I have a lot to talk about, I will jump straight in! :) Halo 3 has the curse and the blessing of being positively the most hyped game in existence. The blessing of course is that, no matter what, the game will sell by the bucketload, as many gamers want to "Finish the Fight" that was started in Halo and Halo 2 (which had a very annoying cliff hanger). ...is that the two previous Halo games have been great successes and very good games that have left gamers wanting more. This is the curse of course. Anything that is over hyped, tends to disappoint many, more times than not. This may not necessarily have anything to do with the quality of the product, but rather the insane expectations of those eagerly awaiting it. So, does Halo 3 meet these lofty expectations? Halo 3 is, as you might guess, the third in the Halo series and concludes the amazing story. This game is a first person shooter game developed by Bungie and is an exclusive for the xbox 360. Halo 3 is, believe it or not a sequel to Halo and Halo 2. The original Halo was fantastic, no doubt about it, the 2nd was good but not great, so when my 13 year old son persuaded me to buy Halo 3 I was a little dubious that it might be 'more of the same'. Well, it is, but sooo much fun. Halo 3 starts off with the usual cinematic clip, and nice it is to and we see 'Master Chief ' on his way back to Earth for the final fight to save the planet and ...
...I thought the graphic on Halo 1 were good, this is special. Sounds are very good too, clunks and bumps where they should be, explosions, ripping flesh and plenty of 'comedy' moments and sounds. The overall scenery is breathtaking and not just close at hand. With the 'scope' on sniper rifles and the like one can see a fair distance, and the close effects lose none of the detail. Halo 3... Halo 3... where to begin? Ok. Having not played the previous Halo games I was a little lost as to whether I should buy this game, but a local store was closing down an they had the collector's edition going away for ten pounds, so I thought why not? ...presumably for whatever happens in Halo 2, but in my case just for watching a cutscene. There is very little idle chat though, and the game drops immediately into a breif tutorial-like section. Now, you will never see another cutscene. At least not until the end of the game, anyway. ...compaired to the last 2 halo games. For the story told in the end I can t help but think they should have expanded on some of the plot and mabe added a few extra levels. It seems the pressure from the fans must have got to bungie as had they waited to maybe early 2008 release this year I think they would have got this game perfect. In fairness though I think the diehard fans would have been at bungies building with flaming torches and pitchforks ...

There are new extra weapons added to the arsenal my favourite being the detachable turrets where u can wander into a crowd of enemys and unleash a burst of pain on them.There are also new veichles too play around with like the quad etc which adds to the fun. Halo 3 is the 'final' of the trilogy of Halo games but I believe that there will be more. Firstly the Single Player experience, the campaign is an epic battle from start to finish from head on skirmishing using your trusty Assault Rifle, to Sniping from cliff tops and destroying using Tanks. I suppose it could be an evolved version of the one used for Halo 2, but if so someone has tweaked it A LOT as the graphics/environments on the three maps on the beta test are simply gorgeous.
