...of any two bags of Haribo sweets for 98p! Losing all of my legendary composure I elbowed kids picking penny treats out of the way and old folk picking up their Wurthers Originals and grabbed greedy handfuls of every different sort of Haribo pack available before racing to the checkout to make them mine. Once home I set about the different packs and found that the one that really stood out was the interestingly titled "Starmix", you don't really need ... ...blue with the large headed Haribo boy looking out of a space rocket!
The rear of the packet is given over to nutritional, ingredient and consumer information as is common with food products, but for some reason Haribo seem to think I'd like to know said information in half a dozen different languages! As far as Ingredients go there are no great surprises with glucose syrup and sugar the predominate constituents with a smattering of artificial flavourings ...

...munching on a pack of Haribo Starmix, looking for inspiration on what to write about. Here it was staring me in the face all along ~ why don't I write about what I'm currently stuffing my face with? Ok then...here goes! I am a big fan of jelly sweets; in fact I often buy them in preference to chocolate. I like midget gems and wine gums best (except yellow ones!), but I can be tempted by other sweets if I see them on the shelves. This is how I came ... ...not as impressed with the Haribo version, in this mix, than I have been when I've eaten bags exclusively containing fried eggs. They were smaller and the texture wasn't as soft; that said, I still like them and the taste was nice. JELLY BEARS~~~ These are always a good choice and they come in a variety of flavours (they are all different colours and often you can't identify what flavour they represent). My favourites are the red and black ones, then ...

...bag of individual bags of Haribo Starmix. I 'tidied' them in somewhere in my bedroom, and didn't find them again until just this week! This review is of a 480g bag of small individual packs of Haribo Starmix. I think I have eaten around six packs, and there are 24 left in the bag now, so I'd estimate about 30 mini packets in each larger bag, weighing approximately 16g each. The bag currently cost £2.49 (Sainsbury's price), so that works out at around ... ...hasn't had cola bottles!? The Haribo ones are cola flavored gummy, brown at one end and clear at the other, and molded into the shape of a coke bottle. These are about 2cm long.
~~Rings: The final kind are gummy rings, in a variety of colors and often with a two-tone effect. While these aren't big enough to go around your finger, you can have fun trying to poke the end of your tongue through! These are also about 2cm in diameter.

Advantages: Taste great, good source of energy Disadvantages: None
Upon seeing Haribo sweets, many adults may just think that they are "fun" sweets that only children under the age of ten would appreciate, however both with their slogan and their adverts, the German company Haribo are trying to convince adults to eat them.
They have a good argument, too, as my brother was recently at a meeting about healthy foods to eat for sport, being serious about both athletics and rugby, and he was advised to eat some jelly-like ... ...out on their match-winning bonus, Haribo sweets. Whilst this may not have been taken seriously by many people, it as well as the slogan "Kids and Grown-ups love it so" does show that Haribo sweets are good for sportsmen to eat and they indeed should be and are liked by many adults.
I've just been given a bag of Haribo Starmix, so whilst eating them I decided to write an opinion about the sweets. However, by the time I connected to the internet, ...

...It's true, I love Haribo as do most other people I know! What is it about those little gummy sweets that get kids and adult alike so excited?
Haribo is the biggest manufacturer of jelly and gummy sweets in the world! They were founded in 1920 in Germany by a gentleman called Hans Riegel. The name Haribo was devised by using the initials of his name with the initial of Bonn, the location in Germany where they are headquartered, HRB - Haribo!! Haribo ... ...reason why people really like Haribo is that there are so many different sweets in each packet. For example, in the Starmix there are mini gummy bears, cola bottles, red hearts with the foamy sweet portion on the bottom, rings and fried eggs. The fried eggs are probably my favourite sweets of all the Haribo range. The white part of the egg is the foamy type sweet and then the yolk is the yellow jelly type sweets. All the sweets, especially the foamy ...

...kid, you never heard of Haribo at all - they're a recent phenonemon it would seem or at least they are in this country but they are now the market leader in children's confectionary believe it or not. Being a self-confessed fan of the 'Starmix' I thought I'd tell you a little more about them for my latest op (1p a read in the process !!) - heres the results ;

The jelly sweet was a huge success and transformed Haribo's fortunes in a short amount of time. ...(usually bought by me) are Haribo Starmix!
I usually buy these from tesco, and normally buy the 300g bag. This costs usually £1.35, alot more expensive than other shops, but occasionally these are offer, sometimes down to a ridiculously good price of 67p! The bag has a clear see through section at the bottom, so that you can see the sweets in the bag. ... ...to admit!
On opening the bag you will be hit by a sweet, sugary smell. Not very fruity, and considering these are fruit flavour you may find this weird. Jelly Teddys (Gold Bears)- These are small teddys , they can be bought seperatly in bags of there own, but i personally think there better in starmix as there quite small. Haribo has to be by far my favourite food product ever! I am completely addicted and actually fantasise about it when I haven't had any for a week, sad I know! I think this addiction started when I was introduced to it from a very young age as I used to live in Germany the home of the Haribo, and the love of it has stayed with me since.

...I am fairly certain that Haribo was not around when I was a child and yet today I cannot imagine life without it. It crept into my world and has refused to leave. Not that I would want it to leave.
I cannot be certain when I first tried actual Haribo but let’s face it one gummi type of sweet is much the same as another. At least it is when you are under the age of ten. ...like other sweets too and Haribo Starmix is one of those sweets. These are very addictive for me in fact I often find myself scoffing the whole packet without even knowing it.
