The majority of Harley riders I know are very nice chaps, with not a hint of "bad-ass" about them. They simply appreciate their bikes, and enjoy riding, and, more often than not, customising them.
I entered the fold late last year. I was, at the time, in hospital recovering from a broken back and smashed pelvis following a quite nasty bike accident. Whilst incarcerated, I had plenty of time to think about what I had done, and how I wanted ... ...careful, but still loud!) A Harley Davidson is a lot more engaging to ride than your typical Japanese pocket rocket. Changing gear is a very different process. You have to physically roll off the throttle, pull in the clutch, lift your toe to slot it into gear, ease the clutch out as you gradually open the throttle again. nothing like those fire and forget race-reps. The heavy clutch though, was not so easy to get used to, it is still hard work in ...

Advantages: Brand appeal, good suspension, low seat Disadvantages: Low tank range, vibration, no fairing
...started to sound like a Harley should, and brought out a grin when pulling away and opening it up to overtake, I actually began to will the traffic lights to turn red so as to be able to enjoy the sound of the engine.
The 1200 is pretty much the same dimensions as the 883s, but with a substantial increase in available power and should be considered if trying out an 883, don't be overwhelmed with the thought of a 1200 engine, it's not big at all ...

Advantages: Less chance of speeding ticket or visit to a&e. Disadvantages: Clonky gearbox,?price and availability of parts
...height a problem(highest in the Harley range)And it is unwieldy at low speeds and when manouvering.
It is a Harley(the oldest model still made)and this gets a few glances from passersby if the sound does not.Big and shiny my Sporty looks good and sounds good!I am enjoying it a lot. ...

Advantages: strong and smooth Disadvantages: quite big and heavy- a high seat hight
...the sun. I also reccomend harley tours around England. I you are used to a superbike it will take time to adapt to the gearshifter but that will not take very long. There is also quite good storage space and suspension. You can choose it in all different colour combunations and decoration including tassle , studs and diamantes, which I , beoing a female quite like! ...
