This model was my first upgrade to hi-fi from consumer brands like Sony, Pioneer etc. I was employed in hi-fi retail as a sales person and was immediately drawn to HK amps for their richness of sound quality. Most of the other comparable brands like NAD, Onkyo and Denon had more features but none had the same depth or clarity. I sold quite a few before I could actually afford one myself, then ran it in stereo with 2 good speakers until I could afford 6. Have recently upgraded to a current model HK and again chose simplicity and pure sound quality over many more fashionable features. Only negative is no onboard digital, but does have 6ch inputs for DVD with 6ch outputs. ...
