Harrods, The World Famous Store.

Advantages: Beautiful Store, An experience in itself
Disadvantages: Very Expensive and Do not go at sale/time unless you want to save lots of money.

Harrods is the worlds premier Department Store. If you are rich and need to do your shopping and live in england then I can guarantee that you will shop at Harrods. Harrods started off as a family business in 1849 as a simple food store (It still incorporates this today)but soon became a much bigger store and branched out into a department store in 1902 with 80 departments and over 2000 staff. It grew even more and became the biggest and best departmental ...

Online shopping from Harrods.

Advantages: Nice products, good quality.
Disadvantages: A little Pricey.

...first found out about the Harrods website when a received a Christmas teddy from my best friends in 2003 and commented on the fact that I didn't know they had been to London. The fact was they hadn't and had ordered the bear online. After that point I have used Harrods online several times, mainly for special gifts and sale items. --*-- The Site --*-- The Harrods web-site is quite smart looking using a colour scheme or primarily white, dark green ...
...the each page is the Harrods logo in dark green with the sign-in and search boxes to the right and a home button to the left. Below this is a black bar with links to the various departments within the site. Each department then has sub-departments so if you are browsing or looking for something specific it is easy to use. This as I mentioned is on every page and makes navigation much easier. Down the left hand side of the home page is set of links ...

It's the Millennium Dome - In Disguise

Advantages: None I can think of unless you like tacky stuff
Disadvantages: Expensive, too big to walk around, hot and smelly

Harrods – it’s a tourist attraction in disguise! Why on earth anyone would want to shop there is beyond me, as apart from the Harrods’s biscuits etc… they sell stuff you can buy elsewhere at a cheaper price! Let’s have a closer look at this expensively tacky ‘store’… ~LOCATION~ Harrods I located in Knightsbridge, which is near the centre of London. The easiest way to reach it is by tube, and you should ...
...one for electricals etc… Harrods is the place to go if you want top quality good, at a high price – only really suitable for your average film star. ~PRICE (!!!)~ This is the part of Harrods hates – but loves, without its high prices, Harrods would not maintain it’s ‘exclusivity’. However high these prices may be, it is really a gimmick – the reverse of any normal store. The people that regularly shop there ...

Harrods has 330 plus departments, over 4,000 staff and has been known to take £15 million in a single day.Harrods sums up the philosophy of a store that attracts visitors from round the world and sells almost everything the world produces. Not for the Pauper

Advantages: Everythjing you could ever want
Disadvantages: Expensive

I have shopped at Harrods on a few ocassions but never on a regular basis. As a man of average means I cannot afford their prices. It is very much a status thing to shop at this store, great for those with money to burn and fine for the tourist to say they've been there. For the average person however you can almost certainly find the same or equivelent item a lot cheaper elsewhere. On the side of layout and design it is excellent and well designed ...
...a pleasurable shopping experience. You can savour the thought of being in this sumptious store brushing shoulders with the rich and famous. Overall if you have the money and are looking for a unique shopping experience then give it a try. As for me I'll have to stick with Sainsbury's and my other local stores. ...

Advantages: The London store is fantastic, The online store stay well clear of!
Disadvantages: Took £270 without my consent, wont deliver goods unless i pay again 3 times! = £900. CS are awful

Don't shop online at Harrods this Christmas! Well unless you don't mind paying three times for goods your not going to get (which was £900) This is the fourth time i have had problems with them, the first time the goods didn't arrive then the next lot weren't what i ordered at all,and the third time they wouldent refund me for 8 weeks i was even charge postage when it was their fault which they would not refund me, i even phoned 14 times but i go ...
...things had perked up with Harrods since and all that but OH NO I just spent £300 in Harrods online on the 10% discount day, i never received any email to thank me for payment, that i thought was odd if not a little rude. Then as i expected today after the promotion ended they emailed me to say that my goods are out of stock!! even though i can still buy them which i pointed out. So when i rang them and got lame excuses, they wouldn't deal with me ...

Horrids is a London Tourist Attraction

Advantages: The sales can be cheap
Disadvantages: It is not what it used to be

That corner shop in Knightsbridge was once a pleasant English department store where the well-heeled lady and gentleman could shop at their leisure and at their pleasure. Sadly, time moves on and an Egyptian with a love of English culture, but little understanding of it, now owns the store. Over the last few years, various departments have been franchised off or rented off in the same way as a council lets off a market stall. The result is that ...
...its former self. The prices are high, many of the staff seem unhappy and the store is frequented mainly by tourists, who unwittingly keep active the myth that this is a treasured English institution. Not only have the Royal Family stopped shopping there, but also, others have deserted in their droves leaving plenty of elbow room for the tourists. If you want a better tourist attraction, try Petticoat Lane Market. It really is an English tradition! ...

Quick review of Harrods (Department Stores)

Harrods home shopping- dreadful I would not recommend shopping online, the service is dreadful. I was sent half of my order yet was charged full postage; the item said 'in stock' at the time and still hasn't been received weeks later. I've wasted alot of money on phone calls; was promised the sales manager would get back to me within 10 minutes but I did not receive the call. Basically Harrods have my money but have not sent the goods, and have not responded. They might think they can get away with it because of their reputation but now it's a job for trading standards ...

Quick review of Harrods (Department Stores)

I would have to agree, never use this service. I ordered a Xmas hamper from them which was battered when it arrived. I contacted them and was told to return it and I would receive a replacement and a refund for the cost of the postage I paid to return it. After many phone calls to seemingly incompetent or ignorant staff I received my replacement but am still waiting for my refund 7 weeks later, after being promised it on numerous occasions, together with a promise of a full refund from a member of staff who kept stringing me along before leaving having not done anything, speaking to several managers and still getting nowhere. Avoid at all costs!! ...

The Food Halls - Harrods

Advantages: Amazing food, amazing architecture
Disadvantages: can be crowded and expensive

...tiled eye-feasting Food Halls at Harrods as an inspiring place to go shopping for your christmas presents. We go every year and besides being a logical entry point - the begining of a magical mystery tour at the rest of this world famous store - the Edwardian opulence of the Food Halls will dazzle your eyes and tempt your tummy. Rows of hams hang amongst sausages from half the countries of the world. Exotic displays of fish on ice - every good ...

Try to be at the door at 10.00am when the store opens. The only trouble with the popular Food Hall is that by 10.30am it will be packed with admiring shoppers and you will have to tunnel through the crowd to reach the stiltons ! And don't be mis-led into ...

Harrods Home Shopping bad customer service

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything

Never use Harrods Home Shopping. I've had a really dreadful shopping experience with them. I'm on their mailing list and received a mailer about the Clinique (cosmetics) Gift with Purchase promotion - basically you buy Clinique items and receive a free gift. I placed an order several weeks ago and received the items I ordered badly packed (parcel was burst open). The money was taken from my bank account right away. I did not receive my free gift ...

I've been given excuses, false promises and apologies but have still not received anything! This has been a shocking experience. Talk about over promising and under delivering! ...

Harrods and my pocket money

Advantages: the layout of the shop
Disadvantages: very expensive

Harrods for who those not know yet how to get there, just take the underground - piccadilly line, because is the easiest way, and go to Knightsbridge. Welcome to Harrods! I went last week to Harrods because I was with my aunt who lives in Germany and she never went there before. Everything was on sale, but even on sale it is not the place to buy products with afordable prices. You can find everything, but I must admit the layout of the shop is very ...
