Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows
Not a Destination, but a Journey…
The End of an Era.
For some time now I have had the date of the 21st July circled in my diary. Not another midwife appointment, or a reminder to myself of how many weeks to go till my baby puts in an appearance. No. The golden day that the final instalment of Harry Potter was due to hit the bookshelves of bookshops and music shops and green grocers (yes…green grocers…) the ... ...of piles and piles of Harry Potter books. If you were a visitor from Mars, I’d take a guess that you’d be seriously thinking that the human translation for WHSmiths was, in fact, Harry Potter Book Store. Apparently, 15 Harry Potter books every second were sold by WHSmiths alone on Saturday 21st July 2007. Wonder if that’s a world record on book sales…?
We trotted over to the nearest pile of said books and stood beside an older couple who were curiously ...

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows
The hype of the messy black haired boy masked with unfashionable rounded glasses and cursed with a lightning shaped scar has long since hit the hearts and minds of not only those young enough to love the fun adventures of the trio, but also the hearts and minds of us slightly older people who were once perhaps too embarrassed to admit we loved the adventures that JK. Rowling brought to the wondrous pages of her books. ... ...long awaited release date of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I know this date had been on countdown in my mind from the moment we were informed of it. It was also around the time that my sister was about to give birth and jokes that she would be reading this final book whilst in labour was well in the air (Luckily her little boy arrives well in time!). By this time I was already part way through my pregnancy and feeling too tired to go to any ...

...a review of the final Harry Potter book. This is for two reasons. One, this is the first review I have written on Ciao for nearly a year and a half, meaning that most of the people who used to read my reviews have now either left Ciao or forgotten who the hell I am. Secondly, my first ever Ciao review back in 2002 was on the first Harry Potter book, The Philosophers Stone. Therefore writing this review feels a little like closing the door on that ... ...life in general, of which Harry Potter has been such a huge part for the last 6 years.
I don’t want to talk too much about anything that doesn’t directly relate to the book itself. This is the thing that annoys me the most about reviews. I know all you want to know is if the book is any good and how much it will cost to you. I will attempt to give you a clear picture of this in the following review.

...given half a chance. Harry Potter, ok, possibly, given a good enough reason. But Hermione Grainger? Not returning to complete the final year. Is this the end of civilisation as we know it? Not exactly. It is merely the end of a seven year odyssey through the life and times of Hogwarts and all associated with it. In this final episode Rowling has quite rightly acknowledged that the kids have grown up, if not quite old enough to vote or to drink, certainly ... ...or the twin-cored wands of Harry & Voldemort…and the whole book asks you time and again, who do YOU believe? Who would you trust? If the answers are ultimately as predictable as the elements of the whole series are derivative, I still don't care. I have loved all of the Potters and now that there will be no more; I have no doubt that I'll find time to read them over. Not because Rowling has produced a literary canon of great value. Frankly she hasn't. ...

I have been a huge Harry Potter fan since I was about 11 years old. I have a huge Harry Potter collection and I have read all of the books, some of them a couple of times. I was really excited when I heard that the publication date for the final instalment was July 21st 2007. I ordered it from Amazon back in March and was very excited when it arrived last Saturday morning. As I work weekends and my nephew came to stay with me until Wednesday I only ... ...will know that Dumbledore left Harry with an important, challenging task to complete. Only Harry and his two best friends, Ron and Hermione, know what the task is and it must stay that way until the end. Ron and Hermione are willing to help Harry with the task, as they don’t want him to go on his own. I have really enjoyed watching the friendships between Harry, Ron and Hermione grow throughout the books and (although it comes as no surprise) it ...

...I have been a massive Harry Potter fan. I remember being introduced to the series when I was in my final year at primary school, my teacher had read the first few pages of the first book, Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone. However, I have to admit that I wasn't that interested, I had assumed that it was a book written mainly for boys! The series hadn't really taken off until a few years later when pretty much everyone was reading them.

So I took it home and I was hooked, I simply couldn't stop reading it...it was so exciting and it was like nothing I had ever read before. After that, I purchased the 2nd and 3rd books and became a major fan!
Everyone knew that J.K Rowling had planned on only writing 7 Harry Potter books, one for every year of Harry's life at ...

...I started reading the Harry Potter series to my son when he was 5 years old and started with the first book The Philosophers Stone, I read him about 10 pages when he decided to fall asleep and I spent the rest of the night reading the rest until I had finished it! This book is not like the previous books for many reasons. ...this finale to the fantastic Harry potter series will not make a great deal of sense to those who haven't read the previous ones and therefore will only appeal to the Potter-fans of the world. ...AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling! Need I say more It speaks for itself! Yes the final installment has been released and it is definately the best of the series on all levels. There are several aspects which make this book stand out above the rest and here they are.
