Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince... Review with images

AdvantagesBreathtaking tale

DisadvantagesNone

"...continue on the journey with Harry and his friends. The cover depicts flames and this grabbed my attention, whilst the blurb on the back cover intrigued me. I had no intentions of missing this one and looked forward to a good comfort read. ===Short synopsis…=== Harry Potter is a very special person. Already famous in the magical world, he now holds the title of the Chosen One. The sixth year at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft is different ..." Read review

Harry Potters most emotional journey yet Review with images

AdvantagesThrilling Plot and Fantastic style of writing

DisadvantagesIs very dark and not suitable for younger children

"...the 6th book in the Harry Potter series. This best seller has a staggering 607 pages but is only the third biggest book so far. This book comes in paperback or hardback version. **Why Buy It?** If like me your a big Harry Potter fan like me then you HAVE to read it as you want to knew what happens next. If your not as serious as us fans then you may read the book just to see if you like the Potter series or not. But the reason a lot of people ..." Read review

You-Know-Who and Who...?

AdvantagesGreat interesting sections that go over Voldemort's past.

DisadvantagesMisleading title, the true identity of the prince bears no significance to the plot.

"Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince What is it ? *********** Pretty obvious, but apparently not everyone has heard of Harry Potter. This is the sixth instalment of the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling. I've always been a fan of the Harry Potter books, especially during the first few years when all the hype was at its peak. The 5th and 6th book have come out very slowly and with each book through the series, each academic year seems ..." Read review

Half Blood Prince - Top Buy of the Year for me!

AdvantagesGripping Plot, Great character development

DisadvantagesTakes a little while to get moving

"...a proper old broth, including Harry and Ginny finally getting together (About time! I hear you cry...) Ron and Hermione... not. Harry finds he has been given a potions book with notes scribbled in the margin that differ from the publishers, and decides to try them, annoying Hermione by getting better scores... and there are spells too... what to do? We find out WHY Voldemort survived, the reason for Tom being in the Diary, who the Half Blood Prince ..." Read review

New Harry Potter book is fueled in Magic and Half Blood Princes Review with images

AdvantagesGripping, Easy to read, Really nice to read

DisadvantagesSome chapters are boring

"...have been a fan of Harry potter since the first book, I read, that book but then had a rest and had not read any of the other Harry potter books. I just went to see the films, I went to see Harry potter and the order of the Pheonix film and Luna Lovegood being in that film made me such a big fan of Luna. I just wanted to see more of Luna so I went to read this book. I got a lot more than just my Luna lovegood, I also got a gripping adventure from ..." Read review

Horcruxe?

AdvantagesNice change from the typical Harry book

DisadvantagesTook a while for the actual story to come to light

"== Harry Potter == After 10 years of the films there's no need - in some individuals opinions - to read the book although I'd argue that sometimes the book is a lot better than the film and in this case it is. Harry Potter is an orphan child with parents who he'd incidentally been told died in a car crash but actually hadn't and that he was a Wizard and not just some scrawny boy for Dudley (Harry's cousin) to bully him. In Harry Potter you watch/imagine ..." Read review

Harry Potter Six - Magical in Every Way!!

AdvantagesFavourite characters and locations return.

DisadvantagesThe ending is brilliant, but sad :(

"...the sixth book in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The Children's Edition has an extremely engagin front cover, with a drawing of Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore inside a ring of flames. The back cover, bathed in a mysterious green glow, depiects a goblet with green liquid inside it. This covert art is by Jason Cockcroft. The story in itself, in some ways, follows the same plot line as many of the previous Harry Potter novels. Harry ..." Read review

Harry's journey is not one to miss!

AdvantagesGripping story.

DisadvantagesHard to put down.

"...won’t spoil it). All in all Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is one of the best books I have ever read. In all honesty, it’s not the best Harry Potter book, coming second to only Deathly Hallows. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone and everyone. If you haven’t read it already, where have you been? ..." Read review

Quick review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter 6)[Children's Edition] - J.K. Rowling

"The sixth of the seven Harry Potter books, this does not disappoint. As the end of the series draws closer, the tension is tangible and the darkness hangs heavily on both the characters' and the reader's hearts. In this instalment, Harry must delve into his enemy's past and discover how he must go about his quest to kill Lord Voldemort once and for all. In the meantime new skills are being learned, new love is blossoming, and new threats are being uncovered at every turn. Once again Jo Rowling proves her ability to move, shock and enthrall.

Harry Potter 6 not to in depth (book)

Advantagesfantastic and engrosing

Disadvantagesyou just cant stop

"...of the best in the Harry Potter series. It has so much tension that you just can not put it down. This book shows the strengths and weaknesses of Harry Potter and also shows how strong his friendship with Ron and Hermione is. This book has lots of twists to it and you get to learn more about Voldermort also. You see how he became the Wizard he is and why it is Harry that he must fight against. The parts between Harry and Dumbledore also show how ..." Read review

Quick review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter 6)[Children's Edition] - J.K. Rowling

"Another one of the amazing JK Rowling books. This book is the story of Harry's last year at Hogwarts (although he doesn't know it yet) and another brilliantly told story of magic and friendship.

Reveiw of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

AdvantagesWhen it gets going you can't put the book down.

DisadvantagesIt has to end.

"...out of his fire place... Harry Potter and the half blood prince is the book in witch the muggle and the magical world intertwine and it's in this book that harry really starts to try and get rid off Voldermort for once and for all i engoyed reading it and their are many happy sad and nail bitting moments in this book. Some of the book the book i must admit is boring and it takes a while for it to get really good but when it does you just can't put ..." Read review

Probably a book for die hard fans

Advantages6th installment of the potter series

Disadvantagestoo much romance

"I have followed the Harry potter series all the way from its beginnings and I enjoyed the first 3 books very much. But unfortunately I did not enjoy this one as much despite the events that occur within the book that should make it stand out in the series. I feel that I grew out of this series unlike a good portion of my friends who are still die hard potter fans, so by the time this book rolled around, the world of magic and wizardry held less appeal ..." Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince [DVD] [2009]

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince [DVD] [2009]

The sixth installment of the Harry Potter series begins right where The Order of the ... more

Phoenix left off. The wizarding world is rocked by
the news that "He Who Must Not Be Named" has truly
returned, and the audience finally knows that
Harry is "the Chosen One"--the only wizard who can
defeat Lord Voldemort in the end. Dark forces loom
around every corner, and now regularly attempt to
penetrate the protected walls of Hogwarts School.
This is no longer the fun and fascinating world of
magic from the first few booksit's dark,
dangerous, and scary. Harry (Daniel Radcliffe)
suspects Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) to be a new
Death Eater recruit on a special mission for the
Dark Lord. In the meantime, Professor Dumbledore
(Michael Gambon) seems to have finally removed the
shroud of secrecy from Harry about the dark path
that lies ahead, and instead provides private
lessons to get him prepared. It's in these
intriguing scenes that the dark past of Tom Riddle
(a.k.a. Voldemort) is finally revealed. The actors
cast as the different young versions of Riddle
(Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and Frank Dillane) do an
eerily fantastic job of portraying the villain as
a child. While the previous movies' many new
characters could be slightly overwhelming, only
one new key character is introduced this time:
Professor Horace Slughorn (with a spot-on
performance by Jim Broadbent). Within his mind he
holds a key secret in the battle to defeat the
Dark Lord, and Harry is tasked by Dumbledore to
uncover a memory about Voldemort's darkest
weapon--the Horcrux. Despite the long list of
distractions, Harry, Ron (Rupert Grint), and
Hermione (Emma Watson) still try to focus on being
teenagers, and audiences will enjoy the budding
awkward romances. All of the actors have developed
nicely, giving their most convincing performances
to date. More dramatic and significant things go
down in this movie than any of its predecessors,
and the stakes are higher than ever. The creators
have been tasked with a practically impossible
challenge, as fans of the beloved J.K. Rowling
book series desperately want the movies to capture
the magic of the books as closely as possible.
Alas, the point at which one accepts that these
two mediums are very different is the point at
which one can truly enjoy these brilliant
adaptations. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince is no exception: it may be the best film
yet. For those who have not read the book,
nail-biting entertainment is guaranteed. For those
who have, the movie does it justice. The key
dramatic scenes, including the cave and the
shocking twist in the final chapter, are executed
very well. It does a perfect job of setting up the
two-part grand finale that is to follow. --Jordan
Thompson
