Advantages: Not bad sound effects and graphics, multiplayer mode Disadvantages: Boring, lifeless game which could have been brilliant!
**What Is It?**
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix DS is the Nintendo DS game to accompany the film (and book) of Harry Potters 5th year at Hogwarts. This will take you through different adventures and challenges. **Age Group**
On the box it says 7 years and up which is true enough as it wouldn't really be suitable for children under that age. This would probibly mostly appeal to teenagers and adults more than children. The storyline is ... ...Story**
You start out as Harry in Grimald Place (where Harry's godfather Sirius lives) and you have to find different characters and speak to them. Ok, simple enough you then have to run around and find Ron's prefect badge which is very easy but you have to follow a confusing compass (which is used throughout the game) You then get lots of pictures that appear and tell the story directly from the book. As I have read the book again and again I found ...

"Your a fool Harry Potter and you will lose... everything" (voldemort) I am a huge fan of the boy who lived but i am not a huge fan of this nintendo DS game. When i logged onto gamestation.co.uk and ordered my copy of Harry Potter i was eagerly anticipating what i thought was going to be a superb game with superb levels and graphics... the game had none of this. Up's - enviroment : The castle and courtyards are vast and your enviroment looks pretty ... ...good fun so all you Harry Potter fans start swotting up. Bonus games : In the Gryfindor common room you can play Gobstones whch is immensely fun much like curling or bowls but with the addition of a huge circle within the middle of the ring and if you lose your gobstone squirts pus at the screen. very comical.
Down's - Graphics : extremely poor, the look of the characters is atrocious and the images fail to look well made and solid (flaky outlines). ...

Advantages: fun, lots of different things to do, takes full advantage of DS Disadvantages: cannot play it again, quickly done
I bought this game as part of a bundle package deal and certainly wouldn't buy it normally. It consists of a number of tasks and then leaves you to your own devices. The tasks take place in several different locations, Hogwarts (of course), Little Whinning and Grimmauld place, this change of scenery is good however it is mostly at hogwarts. It does take full advantage of the DS lite features such as being forced to blow into the microphone to heat ... ...rather odd in public!). The main things that the game consists of are (apart from the tasks): lessons, games (gobstones, exploding snap, chocolate frogs (where you have to click on brown frogs and avoid white ones) and of course quiditch. Now these tasks I've been mentioning, they are quite simplistic and mostly consist of finding someone and/or conjuring a spell. There are also OWLs to complete and duels (you get better at dueling through the DA ...

...you're trying to make a Harry Potter Collection, but not a good game to play.
The graphics in this game are like Runescape AKA Terrible.
The storyline is very short, and when the storyline ends, it says you have only completed 20% of the game, when there is nothing else to do! In the storyline of course, Voldemort is building an army, meaning Harry must do the same. Voldemort, however, is after one thing which he didn't get before. Harry's Prophecy!
... ...you progress through the game.
Prices of the game in chain stores & UK Shopping websites are (as of 2nd September 2008):
Woolworths: £13.99
Amazon: From £6.50
WH Smith: £14.99

Advantages: Brilliant graphics Disadvantages: Not many tasks and challenges
I have Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the Playstation, and I thoroughly enjoyed that game, and I thought this would be similar. But no I was wrong. It doesn't have anyway near the same amount of tasks and challenges that the Chamber of secrets playstation game has. Most of the game you're running around the castle. I have also played the Playstation version of this and it is exactly the same, so I can compare it to the Chamber of secrets ...
