Advantages: its fun, you get some spoilers, good content, nice features Disadvantages: The school is complex to navigate around
...In Order of the Phoenix, Harry is horribly disliked. After his confrontation with the dark Lord Voldemourt, the Ministry of Magic has been working with the wizard newspaper, The Daily Prophet, insulting Harry. People tend to go on the lies that are told here, so Harry is come across as a weirdo. The students bad mouth Harry through-out the game until his story gets believed in the end.
The game is not just about roaming around doing random missions. ... ...each with multiple tasks to complete before moving on to the next. For example, recruiting nearly 30 students to join Dumbledore's Army, the ones that believe Harry's story on he who's name must not be spoken (Voldemort's) return, and who wish to train to combat this new evil. You have to track the kids down and some would join if you talk to them, but the Others require you to complete said tasks to convince them to join. There are no time limits ...

Advantages: Great fun casting your own spells Disadvantages: Unresponsive wiimote
Being a massive Harry Potter fan, and also a big fan of gaming, but never the Harry Potter games, i was a little put off by this game when it was first released. However when i then recieved this as a birthday present from my brother i felt i had to play it. To my surprise i found that it was actually rather a fun game!
The story line generally follows that of the book, you are Harry Potter and your first task is to try and recruit members for Dumbledores ... ...attempt to recruit also wants you to do something for him/ her in return. Obviosuly there is a lot of magic involved and this is where the fun really starts. The Wiimote acts as your wand, which means you get to wave it around and pretend that you are actually casting these spells, and i am not ashamed to say, i even said the spell aloud for added effect. The spells start off pretty basic, but soon you are studying advanced magic which ranges from ...

Advantages: use the wii remote to cast spells Disadvantages: slightly to short
Harry potter and the order of the pheonix(for nintendo wii is one of the best games i have played since i purchased my nintendo wii. However action packed this game is it is incredibly easy and slightly to short.
thankfully thats all thats wrong with this game and the fun filled hours more than make up for those downfalls and The characters in game voices are from the actors who played them in the films.
Also, the extras ingame have footage of ... ...in the film.
The game has incredible mini-games such as wizard chess, during which you play against all the other house teams.
Using the wii remote as a wand is what makes this game as good as it is with so many different spells and potions to master this game is well worth buying. ...

Advantages: Good music and accurate layout of Hogwarts Disadvantages: Poor gameplay and graphics, also VERY boring
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on Wii is very disappointing. The graphics are absolutely rubbish, with the characters' faces distorted and pixelated. The gameplay is the worst I have ever seen in my life! All you do is random tasks for random people, such as finding their lost owl, or collecting their lost socks from around Hogwarts. The climax of the game (fighting Voldemort) is also stupid, as all you have to do is shake the Wiimote ... ...of the box says that you get to play as Sirius Black and Dumbledore, but that only lasts for around 5 minutes out of the 8 hours of average gameplay. On top of that, you don't get to play as Ron or Hermione, which gets very dull most of the time.
The one good thing about the game which takes it off the 1/5 rating is the layout of Hogwarts. This is the first time that a game has protrayed all the secrets of the place, with the moving staircases and ...

Quick review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Wii)
WOW, what a game. having just bought a wii this is one of my first choices, its harry's fith year at hogwarts, this game can be enjoyed by people of all ages, my 13 year old son enjoys it but not as much as me and i'm 34. the graphics are great and it keeps you looking for objects all through the game. spell casting is good even if my wife says i look silly casting them ...

Advantages: Many hours of spell casting and exploring to be had Disadvantages: Game play could seam quite slow and the controller can sometimes be hard to control
...of it. I have played Harry Potter on the PlayStation 2 and wanted to purchase this for my Wii console as I wanted to experience the game play with the Wii controller. To be honest I wasn't expecting much from the graphics but I am pleasantly surprised. All of the characters form the film come alive with this game and the detail of them is fantastic, you interact with all of the characters in the game they set you tasks and also pass comment at you ... ...to explore. If you love Harry Potter I doubt you will be disappointed. Sometimes the wand can be hard to point at certain objects in the castle and you have to reposition Harry a few times to be able to reach the objects. Also Harry's friends can sometimes get in the way when moving round the castle and you find yourself pushing them out of the way so that you can get past them.
If you love Harry Potter and you love the Wii controller buy this game. ...

Advantages: Graphics, gameplay, sound, controls Disadvantages: Other people would say - gameplay, controls
...I brought it for my harry potter loving girlfriend - she's played it once , she couldnt get into the controls or how the game worked and that was pretty much it. I however had a 'quick' go and found myself playing it for about an hour. Since then I've played it a fair bit and its always in long blocks, this isn't a game for a quick 10 minute go.
The first thing that hits you are the graphics- they are probably the best I've seen on the wii thus ... ...and the characters are spot on.
The wii controls in my opinion work well, they make the spell casting easy and make finding secrets nice and easy (without being too simple). However my girlfriend thought the controls were rubbish - maybe if your thinking of buying this game try and borrow it off someone first.
The sound is good - plenty of voice acting and the music sets all the action up nicely.
In terms of gameplay its like a classic pc rpg. ...

Advantages: Great visuals, And can explore hogwarts fully Disadvantages: Motion sensing is just awful
For children this may be a very enjoyable game. But for hardcore gamers its a huge disappointment. The idea of using the wiimote as a wand is brilliant but EA did a bad job of utilizing the idea. The motion doesn't react properly and you'd spend half of the time frustratingly whipping the controller trying 2 activate a spell or move objects. The game on the otherhand is very good. It has a sandbox (gta) style because you can explore the whole of ...

...played any of the other harry potter games but if they are dont buy them....
it was a good idea to have to shake your wii controler in certain ways to cast a spell but you can never cast the right one, you always end up killing draco when you try to disarm him.
another horrible thing about the game is that you have to go around helping people do their homewrok before you can get on with any interesting parts of the game. i think you have to do ... ...who made it had to extended it somehow, but doing this makes it very dull
also you can not play multiplayer so if you have a freind round someone has to be left out
there are some good points like umm umm the music that is really good and the er ................. graphics ( though they are not upto normal wii standards )
i am afraid people of the world i do not engourage you to buy it. sorry

when i went into gamestation and bought this i had doubts...that came true. at a first look this game looked brilliant. huge and beautiful landscapes across hogwarts with great graphics. but the gameplay is poor. there are too many tedious detours around hogwarts and the whole game is just based just by walking around the school for hours and hours and hours. Also the spell casting is very poor. you dont even swing your hand. its just spells like ...
