Advantages: Imaginative and entertaining storyline
Disadvantages: The first few chapters can be Boring.

I first hated Harry Potter. All that hype over a stupid little book about some wizard, I mean, who'd want to read abut that? Me, it turned out. I got my first read of a Harry Potter book on a dark skegness night. My cousin (whom was staying with me) had brought the latest addition to the series (...and the goblet of fire) and I started to read. and I read. And Read. I read until I couldn't read no more. Advantages: it's not an amazingly big book so it's not boring

I got J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter & The Philosopher's just before The Chamber of Secrets came out on paperback which means I was not very quick at getting into the book but then even before the best bits happened I started really enjoying it. Never mind all the strange goings on in Privet Drive with cats sitting on walls, street lights going out and owl swooping around over head, there were strange goings on in Lime Tree Avenue Recently. As the price was very reasonable, I invested in the collection for my three year old son, who at a later age, I hoped might want to read them. ...the book are of course Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger and of course The Dark Lord. These are all interesting characters in the book which is the reason that the book is so good. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone is in so much detail that you are able visualise all of the characters and set out your own scene as to what everything looks like. Harry Potter has been regarded as one of the best set of choldren's books in modern times and after all the reviews that have been given to JK Rowlings work I would have expected more than I found in The Philosophers stone. A lot more. The basic story is promising. Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone is the first in the Harry Potter series. This 223 page book is J.K Rowlings debut novel and it’s absolutely brilliant. I love it, my partner took the mick out of me for a whole year before he gave in and read this book, he has since read the other 4 and watched both films. ...the hype about the first Harry Potter book I really wasn't interested in it, I thought everyone was just going totally over the top. ...the hype about the new Harry Potter book I thought I'd better give them a go. I was not disappointed as they are by far the most fun books I've read since reading the majority of the Famous Five books at Prep School.
