Advantages Advantages A truely addictive game

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit cartoony for some

Well how can farming be fun? To be perfectly honest with you I have absolutely no idea, all I know is I could barely put my controller down long enough to write this review. Harvest Moon started way back on the Snes, but this is the first version to be properly 3D with a very cartoony feel. So what is it? You have been left a farm by your father and with the help of his best friend you enter into Forget-Me-Not Valley and your life as a farmer. To start with all you have is a dog, a couple of seeds, and a cow. It is up to you what you do with it all as you try and find a wife and build a ... more

Harvest Moon. A couple of months ago, game had an offer where you could take 4 of your games and 99p, and swap for any new game prices £39.99 or less. I’d bought quite a few games on a whim in there previous sale for £1.99 each, that turned out to be not so good, so I took these, and 2 £1.00 coins to Game to trade. I got Metal Gear Solid for the Gamecube (Which was a disappointment, but that’s for another review), but there was nothing else that I fancied. The number 1 Gamecube game in the charts was something called Harvest Moon. I didn’t know anything about it, and the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Entertaining, playable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Time-consuming, can be repetitive

I'm not much of a gamer. I've always liked Mario games, harking back to my days as a six-year old with the awesome playing power of a NES, but I'm not one of those people who is into all the latest offerings on all the latest consoles (hence my writing a review on a game that's two years old!). My boyfriend thought he was being helpful by buying me this game. At the time, he was into some PC game, and, feeling guilty by the fact that I was spending most of my time staring at his back, he presented me with 'Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life' for the Gamecube. Being the argumentative type, I ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lasts a bit too long.

Harvest Moon? You must have heard of it by now. If you have played it, you will know what to expect. If you haven’t, you probably don’t like the genre, or that it is aimed at little children, and you couldn’t possibly play a farming simulation now could you? …..Yes, you could. You take on the role of a rather young child, who’s father has unfortunately passed on, and left you a farm in the charming, ‘Forget-me-not Valley’. Great! You have a new home & you are moving away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Trouble is, you don’t have animals yet! That is where your fathers best friend comes ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can get a bit boring

This is the first harvest moon game I have ever played and I have to say I love it. When I first brought it I was a bit worried that it would get boring but I was pleasantly surprised. Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life is a nice little role playing game. It has no violence, shooting or other nasty stuff. You don't have to complete annoying missions to build and stats or moves. Instead your a farmer. You have to grow fruit and vegetables. When you buy some cows you will be able to milk them and either sell it or keep it. The same with chickens. You can collect the eggs and choose whether to allow ... more

Advantages Advantages Suprisingly good fun, really draws you in!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can get a little tedious at times.

Ok, this review might be slightly bias because I've always been very fond of the Harvest Moon series - this game is no exception! "A farming game?!" I hear you cry! Yes, a farming game, and a damned good one at that! The basis of the game is as follows: - Build up your farm - Get married - Build up your farm some more - Have kids - Build up your farm some more - You get the idea! It's suprising how fun it can actually be harvesting your crops, tending to your animals and attempting to woo the various girls around the village, everything adds up to a fairly rewarding experience - a very nice ... more

Ever feel like dusting off the gardening equiptment and attempting to tame the overgrown jungle that used to be your garden? Forget it. Hire a gardener and sit down with a copy of harvest moon where the real challenge begins. You start off as a young man who arrives at a ramshackled little farm and claims it as his own. The village you live in is filled with weird and beatiful inhabitants that you will learn to love-or hate. The graphics are stunning, the game runs through 30 years, and consists of you waking up every morning, feeding the animals, watering the plants and socialising with the ... more
