...wii version a try.
Harvest moon is a game where you can grow crops, raise livestock,go fishing , mining etc.Unlike the ds version you don't have to find 101 sprites. In this one the harvest goddess has turned to stone because no one except the harvest sprites believed in her.You have to find 50 magical "notes" that play a magical melody to revive her.
The first thing you have to do is pick where you want your farm to be,there are 3 places to choose ... ...farm is picked for you. Each have their good and bad points-i picked the one in the town as i like mining.
One thing i didn't like in the game is that you don't have the option to be male or female, you can only be male
Shops-As you progress in the game more and more shops will open. These include places such as a junk shop, cafe etc
Eating and cooking-Your energy plays a big part in this game.If you don't eat you can pass out.I find this quite annoying ...

Advantages: good role-play based story, graphcs good Disadvantages: may be ticky to get the hang of at first
This game appealled to me for the outset as it was a role-play type game where you become a character and live their life. I've always been a fan of games like this eg the sims and thought that this, coupled with the easy control given by the Wii remotes, would be a great match.
In the game itself, you become the lead character and have to make your living. You do this by foraging, fishing and growing crops on your farm. You then sell your produce ... ...reinvested eg into livestock to further make money. The game goes through the four seasons, and you must grow different crops in all seasons. There are also competitions such as best cow/horse, during which you must attempt to beat your fierce rival Jamie. You must also interact and build relationships with the other people living in thevillage.
I found this game quite difficult to get the hang of at first, but once you work out what you are to ...

Advantages: Whole family are able to watch play Disadvantages: Have to play as a boy, only uses the joystick and buttons
After playing Harvest moon on the Nintendo DS (never actually finished it but love playing it) we made a family purchase for the wii so that we could all play and watch together. What a big disappointment, the game is not at all what I was expecting, like the DS game you have to be a boy you can't decide what sex to be which is fine but you would think that the developers would have added some extra options. Don't buy this game expecting to use the ... ...and buttons which makes me wonder why Nintendo made it accessible for the wii. I found it quite difficult to work out what controls to use for certain functions, the instruction booklet is helpful to a point but does not explain how to do some of the most used functions like filling your watering can! I wish there was a way to skip the beginning as it feels like you are watching a movie not playing a game, it seems to go on for ages and ages and ...
