Hays a large accountancy recruitment company. Generally accountancy jobs are offered via agencies rather than by adverts in the local paper or your local job centre. I have been involved with Hays as a job seeker and as an employee. Hays generally charges the employer 35% of the yearly salary to locate an employee. There is a refund if the employee leaves within 13 weeks. I think the size of this fee may indicate why recruitment is a fairly profitable ...

...me to call into the Hays office for an "interview". Upon my arrival, I was greeted with "Did you bring your passport and NI card with you?" No, I replied as I was not asked to do so. "OK, can you fill in this form and I'll tell your interviewer you are here when you have completed it". I was then shoved into a small office and the door was closed behind me. ...like I may be an illegal immigrant or asylum seeker? The interview was averagely conducted and I came away feeling very unimpressed. Come on Hays, look at how you treat people. I registered with Hays Croydon in Oct 06 and Hays Victoria May 07. I work in payroll and finance and they claim to specialise in these areas. They always call me with vacancies, saying they'll put me forward, then I hear nothing from them again. In the whole time I've been a registered candidate they've never got me an interview or a temporary placement. I'm registered on both the temp and perm side. The agency is all talk and are completely useless. I've had lots of temp jobs and a few perm positions since registering with them. Who they find work for God only knows! Waste of time and completely useless! ...

Hays Accountancy i have a had bad experience with,i was put in a course from Job Centre and everyday i would visit an agency and this was one of them. The first time i gave my CV i got a form to give back in which i handed back in the next day.I was told i would recieve a call within the next 24 hours,the staff at the Hays i've experienced with seemed to be very dull. Hays i think goes for the mature experienced people than the young upstarters.I ...

They advertise their jobs on their website and when you ring up they never seem to get back in touch.Overall thats my experience with Hays and i have nothing much to say about them apart from give them a try maybe in your luck they could be the one to find you a job. ...
