The Heat is on
Review of Heat Magazine by
marshmallow
Advantages: packed full of gossip and celebs
Disadvantages: Not really groundbreaking journalism, a lot of ads
...gossip addict like me then heat should be your first stop. Heat magazine is one of the newer gossip magazines and is a bit like the younger cheekier brother of Hello magazine. Heat recently won “magazine of the year” at the 2002 publishing and periodicals association awards (the Oscars of the magazine world apparently) and rightly so I think. The magazine is packed full of celebrity gossip, fashion and all the other unimportant news we all love to ...

say what
Review of Heat Magazine by
bubblesandstars
Advantages: cheap, fun, not taxing
Disadvantages: advertising
Heat magazine, you've seen the adverts on TV claiming "the greater the iq, the greater the need for gossip". I saw them, and I have to say my response was a cynical my a**e, and a flick of the switch.
Stange then that on its relaese every tuesday morning, Im there in my newsagent with itching fingers, and money burning a hole in my pocket. Probably because its not just gossip, (admittedly a lot of it is).
On opening the magazine, you'll find the ...

Heat magazine
Review of Heat Magazine by
jeszikca
Advantages: Full of gossip, cheap, it's weekly, lots of promotions
Disadvantages: None
Heat is a weekly gossip magazine, costing £1.45, I think mainly directed towards females of the younger generation, but even male pensioners would be partial to this! My friend's 90 year-old great grandmother has a subscription to this and reads it from cover to cover religiously, so there you go, very versatile and people of all ages love it!
There are many other celebrity entertainment magazines out there: OK, Hello, Now, Closer, Sneak, etc, ...

It's getting hot in here...
Review of Heat Magazine by
T21AMY
Advantages: Up to date celeb gossip, TV Listings
Disadvantages: Cost, no 'real-life' articles
...buy ? <><><>
In my opinion, heat magazine doesn't have a particular target audience, but rather each edition appeals to anyone interested in general celebrity gossip or the ' hot story of the week'. As such, I guess the majority of people that purchase this mag are probably aged between 14 and 40 although my mum (aged 50) likes my second hand copies !
Whilst on one hand, I probably don't really give two hoots what names Sophie Ellis Bextor has ...

Does it make you hot?
Review of Heat Magazine by
sunworld
Advantages: Not hard on the brain cells
Disadvantages: It can be read very quickly!
...of you that are uninitiated, Heat (or maybe we should use its correct title of "heat", without a capital H - apparently it is trendy not to use capital letters these days!) is a "with it" magazine, definitely aimed at women rather than men (unless your a man who is likely to go ga-ga over Bruce Willis' naked bum!). I wouldn't categorise it in to any particular age group, but I would say it would infinitely appeal more to the "younger" age groups - ...

Hotter than a snakes ass.........
Review of Heat Magazine by
beckslayer
Advantages: trashy, gossip, fashion, celebrity goofs, price
Disadvantages: Your man may steal it!
...my mags.
I came across heat (now if a was a man that may be looked upon differently) by accident. I was bored and it was time for my well-earned afternoon break, so I plotted a course for the smoke room. I was for a change the only person in there, but there was a copy of heat on the table. So I decided that rather than peeling my eyeballs for fun, I’d take a look.
I was very impressed; it was a great read plenty of celeb nitty gritty, ...

Turn up the HEAT !
Review of Heat Magazine by
bluebunny
Advantages: Great TV reviews, celeb goss, honest interviews.
Disadvantages: There'll be no lunch made until you've read the whole mag.
Heat is a weekly magazine packed full of celebrity news, reviews and shopping tips for the young and trendy.
I'm not young and certainly not trendy but I can't wait for Tuesdays to get to get my weekly fix of hot gossip. Sad, I know, but who cares.....ITS GREAT.
My daughter , who's 21, loves this as much as I do, in fact theres often 2 copies in our house. When we've devoured all the news it gets passed on to my mum, so she can catch up too!
The ...

Getting all steamed up
Review of Heat Magazine by
franproc
Advantages: its fun and light-hearted
Disadvantages: its so stupid and mindless, its not even true
...am talking, of course, about Heat Magazine. It comes out weekly on Tuesdays and there's not a week that goes by when I don't linger over the magazine counter, trying to pick something educational and sensible (like Scientific American or Gardener's Weekly) but then inevitably my hand falls on Heat's shiny white and red cover, and I fork out my money for what everyone with an IQ higher than 70-something would call 'trash'.
I can't help it. It's so ...

So tacky it almost sticks to your fingers
Review of Heat Magazine by
Luce100
Advantages: Unfortunately NONE
Disadvantages: Tacky ,trivial and poorly written
...this magazine is called Heat. Heat can be considered to inflame passion and this it certainly did with me. I have not felt so inflamed with dislike about anything as much for a long time. Heat is also a source of warmth but there is so little warmth from Heat magazine to its subject matter it is appalling. Heat magazine is a deeply cynical exploitation of celebrity and of the celebrities themselves.
After some recent TV advertising I thought I ...

The Daddy of all celeb mags
Review of Heat Magazine by
beckle_82
Advantages: Jam packed full of celebs, tv and fashion
Disadvantages: Can be a bit obsessed with Big Bro wannabes
Heat Magazine is arguably the original weekly trashy celeb mag. Taking a slightly more sarcastic, tongue in cheek approach than the like of the predecessors "Ok" and "Hello" Heat is a amagazine that girls will love and guys will secretly sneak a peak of then deny it later.
It's currently £1.65 but does tend to creep up every couple of months so it is worth looking at a subscription (eg Greatmagazines.co.uk - who charge £19.97 for 14 issues, plus ...

Will the lose of Mark Frith affect heat?
Review of Heat Magazine by
acesangel
Advantages: crossword, torso of the week, fashion, interviews
Disadvantages: jade goody, letters page,
...once an avid reader of Heat magazine and still buy most weeks. I think it is the best celebrity magazine on offer due to the diverse features. However, recently the editor who created Heat has left and written a book of memoirs, this is Mark Frith. I am hoping that Heat does not change dramatically because of this but some of the features do need updating. My favourite bits of heat are as follows:
- Torso of the week. These is an obvious choice but ...
