Advantages: Pleasant to drink lager Disadvantages: May get drunk if drink too many

Heineken quickly became a huge hit in the UK. Television advertising, like 'Heineken refreshes the parts other beers cannot reach' helped boost the sales. People's tastes were changing by the 1980's and a Premium lager was made called Export. Heineken started over 140 years ago and is a Dutch firm, but now has plants and brews in many ...

...like and dislike Heineken :~
Heineken have been around a few years now, in fact over 140 years so you would think they would know a thing or two about beer. Probably a lot more than me anyway.
The first image i got of Heineken was those silly adverts, Heineken refreshers the parts other beers do not reach. Heineken was one of the first European brewers to advertise for the mass markets and it has helped them to the number 2 brewer in the world ... ...Heineken was the one brewed by under licence by Whitbread which for some reason was weaker than the Heineken drunk around the rest of the world. So you could drink more and still be sober but for me it smelt and tasted awful so never tasted it again, Until on a boat trip in Greece the only beer on board was the stronger 5% Heineken now this was something different. As everyone knows lager always tastes better in warmer climates and when you seek ...

...a glass of Heineken? Heineken is a Dutch lager, probably the most famous of all Dutch lagers surpassing the likes of Orangeboom and Grolsch. Although, arguably, Grolsch have the best adverts! The beer comes in its familiar green packaging with its red star logo and does so in over 170 countries world wide. It is available in bottles, on draught and in cans. I am a big fan of the continental approach to canned lager as they tend to stick to the smaller, Coke sized, 330ml ...

Advantages: Refreshing, Quality, Available almost anywhere in the world Disadvantages: May not be strong enough for some
Heineken is Holland’s most famous brand of beer and is the leading selling and most well known brand internationally.
Heineken is one of my favourite beers primarily because it is available wherever I travel. As some of you may be aware I travel regularly to West Africa and Asia and Heineken is always available wherever I go, be it in cans or bottles.

Certainly one could down considerably more Heineken (and my other favourite brand Carlsberg) than one could other lager/bitters. The only beer that I could consume more of would be Budweiser but as I stated in an early opinion this is just too light for me.

...the green glow of a Heineken tap. It stems primarily from a holiday in Greece where they sell only 3 types of beer Amstel, Mythos (home brand) and Heineken. Prior to this trip Heineken was just a tepid ‘cold filtered’ choice on pub taps, and whilst lo-alcohol beers are good for drivers, I would rather stick to a more refined number. Fortunately the good people at Heineken began to export it here on mass. The first time I discovered the cans was in a pokey corner shop in Charlton, myself and my Greek flatmate (no relation to the holiday) fell upon it in wondrous gaze. With haste I purchased 8 cans and ...

Heineken from Holland is a well trusted premium lager that is brewed with an appeal to the international market place. Heineken Beer is a Dutch institution. Gerard Adriaan Heineken bought the Stadhouderskade Brewery in Amsterdam in 1863 when he was only 22 years old. He borrowed the money needed from his mother! Heineken Export Lager Beer undoubtedly ranks amongst one of the finest beers in the world. The lager version is commonly available in most pubs from the tap and then the canned and bottled versions also available in pubs aswell as supermarkets and shops. The Heineken Export is not overly distinctive, because in my opinion, a large majority of having distinction is being a full bodied lager, Heineken is neither too heavy, nor too bitter, it maintains a balance of subtle flavours, with a bitter twist at the end of every mouthful, to give a pleasurable pint, miles above 'wishy-washy' no-name bitter lagers. Advantages: Crisp and sharp, excellent on the palate. Disadvantages: Too much is not a good thing.
Heineken Export Lager is not a lager I drink regularly but is definitely one I pick off the supermarket shelf now and then and enjoy.
I always buy bottles of lager as I hardly ever pour the drink into a glass to enjoy. Drinking from the bottle seems to enhance the flavour for me, maybe due to the fact that less air gets swallowed with it when drinking from a bottle neck, as opposed to from a glass, and coupled with the fact that drinking lager from ... ...is Budweiser and compared to Heineken Export it is a little bit duller in flavour. This is not say that Budweiser is not as good, as I find a Heineken good for an in between lager. I couldn't drink it all the time as the taste is very sharp and a Budweiser has a softer, easier on the tongue taste.
Most often, I drink my Heineken as a stand alone drink, with no food as it is drunk in the evening while watching a film or something, but if we do drink ...

...an extraordinary one.
When Heineken first decided to bring its lager to England, many British people only drank ale (a weaker version, mixed with water.) This was because us brits simply couldn't afford the average pint and were therefore being ripped off by pub owners everywhere.
So, the manufacturers decided that the only way they could sell their beer was to lower the alcohol content (by shortening the amount of time the beer is left to ferment) ... ...All went well and Heineken were very pleased with the progress they were making, in fact I doubt they saw us brits as anything other than a pile of drunks....but lets not go into that.
Slowly, over the years, Heineken has been changing the ingredients and the fermentation process, to ensure a perfect taste and a moderate alcohol content, therefore bringing you a great-tasting product, without you even noticing, clever eh?
Apart from the history ...

Heineken Export, as Ray Liotta informs me is now 5% APV, stronger than it's own regular or indeed other lager's such as Carlsberg which is 3.8%. Doing the math you should therefore need to drink 1/3 less to reach a 'merry' state.
