Advantages: Good choice Disadvantages: Competition
Heinz joined together with Farleys and is one of the largest producers of baby food at the moment.
Choice
Heinz do a large choice of baby food. They do packets, jars and rusks. There are about 8 different options for each meal of the day, breakfast, dinner and tea. There are four different types of rusk and loads of different types of jars. I'd count them all for you but I'd get some strange looks from other customers and shop staff. In short I ... ...baby has enjoyed all the Heinz varieties he has been given. At least I think he has. Sometimes he can't get enough, other times he just isn't interested, but this happens regardless of which food I give him. I think the varieties with cheese in can smell a bit strong but it doesn't seem to bother my little one. The whole family agree that rusks are tasty.
Preparation of food
The instructions for preparing food are clear and easy to follow. For ...

Advantages: Variety, knowledge that you are giving your child good food, kids love it Disadvantages: glass jars, price, heating up the jars,(my kids refused to eat it if cold!!)
...feeding my first two with Heinz i almost exclusively fed my third daughter on home made food which i sieved, pureed, chopped etc depending on her age. But this an opinion on Heinz and not a home grown lecture so i shall proceed!!
Now, the Heinz range is superb. They have different size jars for different ages, pureed, or more chunky for growing appetites, and the price goes up to about 80p per (large)jar, depending on where you shop/live of course.. ... ...to the foods i prepared. Heinz make it clear what each jar contains, no added salt, suger, etc, and of course you can feed your child straight from the jar...brilliant for days out or babysitters!!
I did find that the jars wouldnt heat up properly just by standing the jar in water and this did not go down well with my 2 eldest, who would spit the food out if cold. This was only a problem with the main courses, so this did not suit my children, of ...

Advantages: Convenient when going anywhere, have a whole range of flavours Disadvantages: can work out expensive, may limit your childs tastes and make it harder on the next weaning stage
...am giving Connor's opinion on Heinz Baby food in Jars and Cans for 8 month olds. Connor has tried many different baby food products and does, at the moment, prefer Heinz jars to cans. Heinz do a wide variety of flavours, they have veggie alternatives as well and they range from 55p to 80p depending on where you buy them - his favourite at the moment is Chicken and Fruit Rissotto. He find's the jars are a little more runny than the cans and are easiler ... ...thick and glupey. I find that jars are very convenient as a working mum. Connor often has lunch or dinner at a child minders and these jars are easy to pack in a lunch box and carry around, they are also ideal for days out, as most restaurants will heat these up for you in a jug of hot water. If you are going out for the day I would recommend that you ask the food to be kept in the jar when warmed, this way you know nothing has been tampered with ...

Advantages: a large variety of flavours, convenient packaging Disadvantages: not very good value for money, not always the best nutritional food for baby
...I have to say that Heinz is a very good baby food. It comes in many forms for maximum convenience, and in a wide variety of flavours to appeal to a wide range of tastes. A jar or two in a nappy bag for emergencies can be a life saver.
Having said that, as an experienced parent, I do have to say that Heinz baby food, just like most prepackaged baby foods, is not good value for money. Any health visitor or even baby recipe books from the library can ... ...own, get a variety.
Heinz does have a special place in my heart, for they are not just a company making money hand over fist marketing baby food. In the US and Canada, Heinz baby food labels can be collected by children's hospitals and redeemed for money to purchase much needed equipment. Eleven years ago when we were living in Missouri, my eldest son benefited from life saving equipment purchased with Heinz baby food donations. This , in addition ...

Advantages: Good choice of foods in varying age ranges, convenient Disadvantages: work out expensive if using all the time
Heinz do a wide range of foods in various age ranges.
The first age range up to 6 months, come in smaller size cans with a ringpull, so can be used on the move.
They look awful, smell awful and taste awful, apart from the stewed fruits and the apricot custard is lovely. They have a funny texture too. I gave tinned food to my son sometimes, and he loved the fishermans pie (awful smell of fish).
As they get older, the food gets lumpier and more ... ...I watered down a heinz baby meal of farmhouse vegetables and it gave a delicious soup for his tummy to manage. You can do the same with the fruits if your child has been ill and needs to work up to normal foods. He has actually asked for this "soup since".
They claim to be fortified with iron and vitamins and low in sugars. I am not too sure about the sugar part. The sauces seem to contain some sugars. I think these foods are great for convenience, ...

Advantages: Convenient if your going out Disadvantages: desserts are sugery
...from his milk I used Heinz jars occaisionally.Mostly if we were going out for the day or for a meal, as restaurants won't heat up your own cooked food. The jars are very handy and come in lots of differnt tastes and textures ranging from 4 months up to 2 years.Smoothe for younger babies and as they get older the food has more lumps.
My little boy really liked the desserts they make..chocolate pudding, strawberry cheesecake and all the fruit varieties(Although ... ...them)So maybe I won't be using the desserts next time. His favourite jar is the chicken and mushroom pasta and after tasting it,I must say is quite tasty. He also likes the Alphabet pasta in tomato sauce.Lots of other choice and variety.
The jars are easy to warm or have cold and are great if you dont have time to cook or your stock up of baby food in the freezer has ran out.
My son didnt live of these he had them occaisionally as home cooked food ...

Advantages: quick and simple, lots of varietys Disadvantages: can be more expensive than homemade food.
I have used Heinz baby food for all of my children and will continue to do so with my new baby.
Heinz do a variety of different baby foods including tins, jars and packets. There are different types of foods for different age groups.
4 months +
These meals are designed to be very smooth, there are absoluely no lumps and so make it very easy to introduce your child to new flavours.
7 Months +
These meals are very similar to the 4 months + foods ... ...As well as main meals Heinz also do a huge range of desserts and baby drinks.
We particulally like the fact than you can just spoon out the amount of food that you want, heat it up and save the rest in the fridge for the next day (must be in a suitable covered container and not in the can. The packets of food can be a little hard to master as you have to get the right amount of food to water/milk in order to get the right consistency or it ends ...

...old and we use the heinz tinned baby food on an occasional basis if we are going out for the day and can't keep her food stored in a cold place etc.
The heinz range is quite extensive and starts from 4mths all the way up to 18 mth jars in my local tesco. Prices vary according to the size of jar and age range. The pure fruit ones are the cheapest at 34p for a small tin aged 4 months, a standard 7 mth tin is between 40p and 53p dependant on contents.
... ...4 mths one is very smooth, no lumps at all and as the age progresses u will see the lumps increase.

...baby food is Heinz. Heinz baby food comes in dry baby food in packets, cans and jars. They have a variety of breakfast food, savoury and desert.
I will give you some info and tell you what my babies think of some of the stage one food (4 month onwards) that heinz do.
1. Heinz Farleys gluten free rusks.
Ingredients: flours (rice, soya), maize starch, potato starch, sugar, vegetable oil, milk protein, calcium carbonate, emulsifier (lecithin), niacin ... ...many more flavours in the heinz range and my babies like most of them though there are some they dont like. I'm not sure about the deserts such as strawberry cheesecake and chocolate pudding because I am trying to keep the babies off things like that for now.
Hope this helped a little

...all the brands on offer Heinz seem to have a lot more choice and are at least 30% cheaper than other brands.
There are a range of products suitable for 4 months and then from 7 months and i was impressed that as well as being clearly labelled the labels are also diferent colours for easy recognition.
The variety sometime makes it difficult to choose. I also like the fact that there are two different sized jars to cope with babys changing appetite.

Review of Heinz Baby Food
Advantages: good baby food and range Disadvantages: packaging
My nephew came to stay, and his food ran out. So, I was sent to the shops to get the baby some food. I though 'Oh no.....' but I was surprised as the Hienz range was so good. It had clear labels telling you what age group the food was suitable for. It wasn't that expensive either 47p a little tin. The tins are just enough for a feed and fill the baby up. He seemed to love the food and gobbled it up instantly. I thought the tins were good packaging ... ...it came to heating the food, we normally microwave everything. But, not to bother the contents were heated in a saucepan. They also contain the right amount of vitamins for babies, which is an extra reason to buy them. Overall I was very impressed, the baby was happy and so were we. ...

Advantages: Convenient Disadvantages: Expensive and could cause harm
Heinz has long been a trusted name in Baby foods, but with my last baby I noticed something I thought was quite irresponsable of them. Babies under 6 months are not supposed to eat anything containing gluten. So why on earth do Heinz label some foods suitable from 4 months, when they do contain gluten? Heinz baby food has been around for a long time. I have used many makes of baby food but have found that althoughs Heinz give a great choice in baby food and a wide variety. I came across Heinz Mums Own. Mums own food doesn't contain any artificial additives or any G.M. foods. All pure natural food for you baby, just as though you have made the meals yourself.
Nutritional value?
The meals are everything that you would make yourself, but with the right quanities. Each jar contains real fruit, vegatables and meat. Each jar has the right amount of iron, vitamins and minerals that you baby needs with her meals. ... ...deals. In my opinion, heinz Mum's own is well worth the money, even at full price, as it does not just save you time in cooking a full meal for you baby, then placing the food into a blender, but it also makes sure that your baby gets everything that they need.
Recommend?
I already have recommended to family and friends that have babies, therefore would recommend to everyone. ...
