Heinz tomato sauce is as popular over here in England, as it is all over the world. Originally from the USA, we have adopted it over here as one of our own. Probably the best known and most popular of Heinz 57 varieties, it is present on every café table in England, in every town, city and metropolis. In fact the yanks pinched it off the Chinese, and it was originally called ke-tsiap or something, which means fish sauce, obviously ... ...using it ?
Without Heinz tomato sauce, I am sure the wheels of British industry would stop turning. Every works canteen in the country is home to the delicious, red, flavoursome, tomato treat. Every bacon buttie in the country has a drop on top. Every road side burger van and every greasy spoon café, has a copious supply ready to drown the filthy food they serve with some kind of flavour.
Heinz tomato sauce is a delicious accompaniment to almost ...

Heinz Tomato Ketchup has always been a product that our household purchases on a regular basis and is something that we purchase without a second thought. However with the concept of economizing we made a cardinal sin by thinking that this could apply to our favourite Tomato Ketchup.

The Heinz company have been producing ketchup for over a 100 years now and today produce a staggering 57 varieties of ketchups. There ketchups are totally free of any artificial colouring or preservatives so that deep red colour that you get is totally natural. Also there is no artificial thickeners used, which speaks wonders for a product that is so thick and rich and that many of us have appreciated.
According to the stats Heinz ...

...it was that H. J. Heinz saw an opportunity and took it after bottled ketchup became a national phenomenon thanks to a man named Jonas Yerks. Believe it or not, THIS was the man who first put a bottle on every grocer's shelf. He took his bottled ketchup and actively marketed in across America. He did so well over the next forty years, Heinz wanted a piece of that pie. Heinz realised that to get their ketchup on every table, it had to stand out.
Ketchup ... ...and made with unripe tomatoes. Heinz decided to experiment until they came up with the perfect recipe. The sauce was improved in consistency and taste by first picking only fully sun ripened tomatoes, and then pickling them first. This preserved the tomatoes for longer shelf life, and the tomatoes also deepened in flavour intensity due to their ripeness. Being also higher in pectin due to ripeness, this also thickened the sauce to its popular consistency. ...

Heinz is by far the best choice though. I just hate the sort that you get in the economy range of most supermarkets, it tastes cheap and watery and leaves a stingy taste on your tongue...bleugh! Heinz Ketchup is the undesputed champion of Ketchups. While most of the supermarkets make their own brand, none of them seem to be able to match the overall perfect flavouring of Heinz.
I tend to find most supermarkets add far too much sugar to the recipe. The results are far too sweet.
Their only true competitors are Daddies and even they cannot match the "Bottle Power".

...I think we are – Heinz is head and shoulders above any of the competition.
The ketchup itself is basically just tomatoes, vinegar, sugar and water blended together to form a thick sauce, and this thickness is where the problem used to arise.

The Heinz variety has the best taste of all brands and in some cases (no names mentioned) the taste is far too vinegary for my liking and it runs far too readily for its own good.
