Advantages Advantages Quick to prepare, reasonably cheap.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Much too high salt content - is a processed food at the end of the day.

HEINZ CLASSIC VEGETABLE SOUP 300g I was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday, so I went to the cupboard in search of comfort food and found a tin of Heinz Vegetable Soup. This was something I remember eating when I was a child and I was poorly and it always cheered me up. This size is classed as a mug size, but I always prefer to eat it in a bowl. ***What does it offer?*** Well, it comes in a can with a red label and a picture of wholesome soup on the front of it. It states that it is suitable for vegetarians and is low in fat. It only has 129 calories per serving, 2.2g of fat (of which 0 ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes great, it's Hienz

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too much salt

When I need a quick meal I often turn to the old stalwart - a tin of soup. For me it has to be Heinz soup and my favourite happens to be their classic vegetable soup. I have tried the various other vegetable soups they make such as winter vegetable and spring vegetable but they just don't taste as good to me. A 400g tin of Heinz Vegetable Soup will currently set you back 60p in Tesco's so the price is good then. The label round the tin has the instantly recognisable green Heinz logo on the front with the words Heinz Vegetable Soup written inside it and pictures of the various vegetables ... more

Advantages Advantages Decent sized chunks of veg

Disadvantages Disadvantages Watery taste, poor overall

Without my mother around to make sure I leave the house wrapped up I seem to have picked up my fair share of coughs and colds over the last few years. These last few days I’ve not stopped sniffing and sneezing, so thought a nice soup should fill the hole for lunch and warm me up at the same time…well, that’s what my mother would have given me anyway!! However, I was disappointed to find stocks low and the only tins available were both Heinz Vegetable which I wouldn’t usually go for as I prefer something a bit more meaty, but rather than fight the cold and go to the shop I opened the first tin ... more

Advantages Advantages Quick and easy to make

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all

Through the winter months I find that a lot of the time I am looking for something hot for lunch and due to this I eat a lot more soup and Vegetable is one of my favourites. A bit of history I have never really given much though to the brand Heinz and where they came from but having checked it out on the Heinz website (www.heinz.co.uk) I was actually surprised to find that this was founded by two American gentleman way back in 1869 and their first product was a glass jar of Horseradish which was grown in their garden, how charming. Naturally Heinz have come a long way since those early days ... more

    Advantages Advantages healthy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not well balanced

If you read some of my latest reviews you a)know that I'll go travelling again soon and b) that therefor I'm doing my best to eat healthy to get fit and in shape. My latest idea was to have soups for lunch at work - let's give it a try! I've always been a big fan of soup but with the exception of pepper/tomato soup I've never managed to cook anything that was worth mentioning. Tinned soups are a easy solution, too easy if you ask me. Most don't taste anything like they promise on the label, are full of artificial flavours/colours or preserving agents and inferior products. But Heinz has a good ... more

    Advantages Advantages tasty like soup

Disadvantages Disadvantages thin and probably like mcdonalds food, made from sand

If i had to fill my legs with soup (for whatever reason, maybe it became law) Then i would choose a nice thick broth with bits of cows heads in it and big sturdy mash. If i was to fill my face with soup then it would be HEINZ VEGETABLE (adopts pose and gyrates his hips) Heinz vegetable soup is a classic, though its not clear when eating it if it is in fact any good, confused? you will be. Well let me explain, it comes in a tin, the tin has vegebells on it and it costs around 60p for a standard tin at 400grams (one bigish bowl) or about 40p for a tin for one person (a medium bowl). The soup ... more

    Advantages Advantages the tin appeals

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the soup doesn't

When I'm feeling tired, cold and ill, I love nothing more than to settle down by the fire with a nice hot soup. This was the thought on my mind when I went into my local shop looking for a soup. My eyes came to the tins of Heinz soup and I saw a tin of Heinz Vegetable soup, the label picturing a variety of fresh vegetables. I grabbed the soup tin off the shelf and bought it, hesitating only when I saw it was going to cost me almost 70p for a small tin. I got home and heated it up in 2 minutes in a mug in the microwave after being slightly disappointed by the appearance of the exhausted ... more
