A perfect foil.
Review of Hello by bigbtommy

Advantages: Can be used to light fires or clean up, erm, accidents
Disadvantages: Costs money and wastes precious ink and paper

...Peace behind the cover of Hello magazine. There will be secret basements with biochemists trying to avoid the omniscient and penetrating gaze of Big Beckham. The concentration camps will be filled with philosophers and physicists. Academic journals will become one-man illict samizdat jobs, published on secret presses and distributed by masked men in back rooms of pubs. Libraries will take off and leave for the shores of the smart. Okay, I'm being ... Read review

You Say Hello I Say Goodbye
Review of Hello by Wayne10ch

Advantages: Excellent TV Guide
Disadvantages: The rest of the magazine

...their wedding and reception to Hello magazine. The only thing I can hope is that these two 21 year olds did it for their fans (yeah right). I guess it just goes to show you can never have too much money. It is nice to know that when we buy any singer or groups songs, we are donating it to allowing them to lead such a nice life. Did I hear someone say I am jealous? Bloody right! · Two pages of "Diary of the Week" are followed by 4 pages of Coronation ... Read review

Goodbye Hello
Review of Hello by Dizz

Advantages: Good to get your bonfire going
Disadvantages: Everything about it

Are our lives really so empty that we feel we have to fill the void by reading about "celebrities'" lifestyles? Today I have been unfortunate enough to have been given a copy of Hello! magazine (there is no way on this earth I would buy it). Still - there is one good thing to come from it - an opportunity to write an opinion for Ciao. Hello! magazine is a glossy mag full of pictures of celebrities arriving at parties, celebrities at award ceremonies, ... Read review

Celebrity As God
Review of Hello by polydeuces

Advantages: Well produced
Disadvantages: Ingratiating, sycophantic drivel

...in. In the world of Hello there is no rail crisis, no problems in the NHS. World hunger and deprivation exists as a photo opportunity – how good that God makes most of its natural disasters strike where the sun shines. This leads me to the crux of my problem with Hello. The magazine treats its celebrities and particularly royalty as Gods. In doing so it appears Godless and without compassion unless that compassion is recognised and revered ... Read review

A flick through Hello
Review of Hello by danieletheridge

Advantages: Good TV guide
Disadvantages: Where are the celebrities?!

...her death. One thing that Hello can receive praise for, however, is the separate supplement. If there is a significant event, then you can bet that Hello! Magazine will print a ‘life in pictures’ supplement. Page 55 brings us an advert for Vodafone, and for their Valentine’s service. And once that is read a brief article on Liz Hurley covers those glossy pages. This is where the ‘7 Days’ supplement is attached to the ... Read review

Mindless drivel, but entertaining
Review of Hello by Bluecat

Advantages: easy read, full of useless yet entertaining information
Disadvantages: A few errors and missing facts

I love this magazine. Its so amazingly tacky! It is a cheaper version of OK, and it shows, although I must say that the photos are of a similar quality even if the text isn’t. Often full of errors, or missing useful facts which the reporter obviously forgot to ask in their excitement (like the subject’s age!) it’s still a blissfully mindless read, ideal after a hard day at the office. Although they do manage to capture a lot of celebrities, there’s ... Read review

A Comic Book for Adults
Review of Hello by mczly

Advantages: Great escapism
Disadvantages: Same old faces keep appearing

...magazines as a teenager then Hello magazine is just that but for adults. It is ritzy, glitzy, full of minor royalty, showbiz types and the good old jet set. With the large photo format and the editorial tucked away at the bottom of the page the layout is very reminiscent of children's comics and, like a comic, it requires no intellectual input to "read". The people featured and the type of life they lead is a zillion miles away from my life and ... Read review

Degrading and Untrue
Review of Hello by elbeck0

Advantages: It is a quick and easy source for spreading rumors
Disadvantages: It is degrading and immoral for those who it is written about

I do not personaly buy 'Hello'magazine, as I think it is basicly trash, but you can never fail to see a copy in the doctors' waiting room, or left on the train, and when I am SO bored that i bring myself to read it I am disgusted at the content. The people who write this stuff have no respect for other peoples' privacy and treat celebrities like they are just objects that are theirs to criticise or insult: when was the last time one of these people ... Gossip Gala
Review of Hello by laurajones

Advantages: price, good articles/pics.
Disadvantages: small target audience

If you love to keep up to date with your fav. celebs and their glamerous lives then you will surely like 'Hello' magazine. I first read this magazine when someone had left it on the train. OK, some of the articles probably do pry a bit into the lives of some celebs and some of the articles may be slightly over eggaderated but most of them do have some quite good articles e.g on posh and becks. I think that this mag. is good if you are a bit nosy and ... Read review

Best Celeb mag around
Review of Hello by moraghewat

Advantages: glossy pics
Disadvantages: not great writing

...glossy photos to compensate. Hello focusses heavily on UK celebs, and the aristocracy. Many times they do a feature on aristos the rest of us have never heard of. They are famous for their "weddings" issues which are always suitably over the top. Hello has a broad cross section of celebrities in its issues, and doesn't get hung up on the awful Beckhams as OK does. The mag is suitable for all - you won't find anything offensive! There are also puzzles, ... Read review

Scheming Contradictions
Review of Hello by Buffydlh

Advantages: its an interesting read
Disadvantages: it is all completely untrue!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of months ago i purchased this magazine and was amazed at the amount of lies that was in one particular artical, regarding Celine Dions pregnancy. For starters they got her age completely wrong! and then contradicted themselves by putting a wrong date of birth! which didnt add up!! Then they gave quotations from "family friends" which were completely untrue! It was a disgrace because it was a personal situation, and the fact that she was ... Read review

Hello is still far classier than OK magazine
Review of Hello by tiggy77

Advantages: Great celebrity photos
Disadvantages: Sometimes only gives one side of the story

Why do people settle for second best with OK! Magazine when they can read the original and in my opinion superior Hello! Hello! is packed full of glossy celebrity photos and the writing always has a positive angle. The stories tend to be based on fact and the articles are unusual as they tend to be on the celebity's side while other magazines try to dish the dirt. It's nice just to cuddle up on a sofa and be transported into another world of the ... Read review
