Advantages Advantages Brilliant vehicles, services, honestly & genuine unlike Drive Assist(reported to watchdog)

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing.

The negative reviews below me...I do not understand. I think a lot may have changed. I was wary as my husband had been with Drive Assist, who just treated him like a child and were very rude staff. I had an accident back in December 2008 (during Christmas time) and a few days after received a call from a lovely girl that said she worked for helphire. My insurance company Esure had referred myself to them (HELPHIRE DO NOT HUNT PEOPLE OUT) as the insurance companies and helphire have contracts. Helphire in fact pay the insurance companies to take on their claim, so they are not money grabbers. I ... more

This is a review of Helphire, if you have an car accident and it's not your fault you would really being doing yourself a favour by calling these people. I had an accident last year, I was rear ended quite hard. I had sustained some pretty bad whiplash and my car was barely driveable. This happened to me once before and I remember the hassle I had with the other guy's insurance company, blood and stone are two words that come to mind. I had no car for 2 weeks and got nothing for my loss of earnings. When the car was eventually written-off I probably received a cheque for less than 70 percent ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great company,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only for NON-fault accidents

I had the great pleasure of working for Helphire for 16 months - I left there about 9 months ago and parted on really good terms. I wanted to share with you what Helphire are all about, as I was greatly impressed by the work that they do. Helphire is an accident management company that dealt with assisting drivers who had been involved in an accident that is no fault of their own. These services include: - a hire car for the duration of repairs, or if the clients car is a write-offf, then a hire car until they receive a cheque from the other party. - repairs - your vehicle will be repaired in ... more

    Advantages Advantages Provide "free" car

Disadvantages Disadvantages may not recover costs

Helphire have certainly had to improve their service and product recently as they were caught out and had to wait for a lot of claims being settled and negotiations to take place with the big insurers. Since December 2000 they joined the ABI GTA as 1st Tier Subscribers which means that they have a set rate to charge and rules and procedures to follow. If they do not follow them they can be kicked off the scheme and insurers will not pay the costs. Even if there is an after the event policy sold as in this case, they still need to ensure that you are aware that you will be ultimately ... more

My wife had an accident 7.9.2007.Totally other persons fault.Went into her while she was goung round a roundabout. Our insurers(Swiftcover)recommended Helphire. They telephoned me a couple of days after accident and the terms they stated over the telephone were you have the hire car until your car is repaired to your satisfaction,if written off, seven days after you receive a cheque or for a maximum of 51 weeks.Once Swiftcover made a token gesture of an interim payment, they told Helphire, who then told me they wanted the car back.I told them none of the terms of our agreement had been met, that did ... more

Advantages Advantages Quick delivery of courteousy car

Disadvantages Disadvantages Do not return calls, Delay everything meaning they gain maximum in rental fees

Early last month August 2011 I had an accident which was not my fault. I contacted my insurance company Hastings Essentials - (Fully Comprehensive Cover) and gave details. Hastings told me if they deal with it I will loose my no claims until the other party pays out - or I could use Helphire and they will do everything for me and it won't affect my no claims at all (Car was assessed as Total loss early the week after). The other party admitted fault the same day. Courteousy car was delivered the day after by HelpHire. Unfortunatley I haven't recieved a cheque yet and now HelpHire have said it ... more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS They were going to charge an extortionate amount to the other insurance company for a hire car and when I phoned the other insurance company direct they said they had alot of problems with helphire and they probably wouldn't have paid them for that (leaving me to pay) I dealt with the other persons insurance company direct, they had a hire car with me promptly. I even dealt with the recovery of my vehicle myself and had it taken to a repairer that I knew was good, helphire wanted to take my car 100 miles away to ... more

i have worked for help hire (hellhire) and also been a customer, i'm not to sure what one was worse, they treat the staff like poo, and con the customers, ok they give you a car if you have been in a accident (probley get it filthy) but if you are going through a compensation claim aswell and they are not dealing with it (angel assist) they will take the car back off you. as they want the full package ect.....

NO HELPHIRE! What a completely unproffessional company. First, they kept losing my details then they took 4 days to give me a car after £15 of phonecalls! They gave me the details of a local garage who wouldn't collect my car that wouldn't start so the insurane company put me in touch with a garage that would. I then received several phonecalls from rude Ian at 'Unhelpfuhire' telling me that the claim wasn't progressing quickly enough and that I was costing them money!!! Whilst I was on holiday they terminated the hire agreement due to me costing them too much money. ... more

Advantages Advantages staff initially appear to be helpful

Disadvantages Disadvantages 'customer service' non existent if any problems, it seems that they couldn't care less.

I had the misfortune to be put in contact with helphire - my advice? AVOID! they are all very nice at the start, but I soon discovered that they were actually pretty clueless and when things didn't work out quite as they had promised, they don't want to know, never return calls and leave you completely in the lurch. If all goes well, I am sure that (like most companies) they are ok, if it doesn't, they are a nightmare, their 'customer service' is non-existent if there is any problem that they need to sort out, I would never use them again, under any circumstances - save yourself a lot of ... more
