Hercules 3D Prophet II MX

When I bought my PC cash was in short supply so I opted for a system with on-board graphics and sound...Big mistake! This is after my experience the best geforce sdr card around, specially if you upgrade to the new detonator3 6.18 drivers (download them here: www.nvidia.com) The card comes in a cool box, and the manual is, good, produkt support is great, i had a problem with the resolution and i got a reply from my e-mail within 24 hours. The card tackles all games easily at 1280x1024 pixels, and most at 1600x1200, which is great, the newest drivers from nVIDIA give a large performance boost. After reading all the hype I couldn't wait to get my hands on a Geforce card and I wasn't at all disappointed - Quake III will never be the same again. I couldn't believe the difference between the 3D Prophet DDR-DVI and my old Voodoo II SLI cards. The graphics are much smoother and the frame rates much higher .Benchmarking with 3DMark2000 proved all this - almost doubling the score. This is a great all round card which performed well inthe benchmark tests that I ran on it. It is a reasonable price, and it makes for a nice card to be sitting in your computer. The manual is quite concise, and the company support is reasonable. You can download any new drivers from the homepage of the company. This card is not the top of its category, but if thats all the monewy you have, then you couldn't do much better. this is the best budget card on the market as far as i can see. it out performs the creative mx 32 mb ddr and only has sdr!!! easy to install, great driver support and handles games well at high resolution - at £99 it is a real bargain. however, ALWAYS research for yourself - i did, but your machine will be different from mine. the best places are Computer Buyer and magazines like that and research prices eg dabs .com shop smart et.c - kelkoo as well. shop smart is linked from here i think. always make sure your motherboard is compatible with your card, you have the recommended system ... more
