this uni is cool :)

Advantageseverythings fab!

DisadvantagesHATFIELD

"...brilliant and the University of Hertfordshire is fully equipped to offer all students a fab experience. The main draw to the University (academically) is the fact that courses can be mixed and matched; students originally planning to study history can find themselves studying as different language or accountancy! This diversity is encouraged in the University allowing students to choose options for themselves which they wouldn't have thought possible. ..." Read review

UH and Computer Science BSc

AdvantagesGreat facilities, good ratings, enthusiastic lecturers

DisadvantagesSome would say location

"First off, UH is regarded by many people as a 'Jack of all, master of none' type of university. The fact of the matter is UH has very sensibly decided to drop the subjects which are its worst to concentrate time, money and resources on its better ones. As such it is rapidly improving in both teaching and research ratings and is highly regarded for its Law, Engineering (including IT) and History courses. The facilities are excellent for my course ..." Read review

The University of Hertfordshire

AdvantagesGood place to study, neat and new

Disadvantageshatfield town centre, grrrrr

"The University of Hertfordshire has developed a wide range of full-time, part-time or post experience studies in collaboration with industrial, commercial and public sector employers, the graduate school provides a focus for postgraduate study reflecting the Universities commitment to this expanding area of its work. The University is made up of a number of different campuses each with its own character and facilities, At Hatfield the campus ..." Read review

Going to U.H!

AdvantagesBrilliant Facilities!

DisadvantagesLocation

"I have been to the Uni of Herts for the last year and i feel i shopuld let the world know my opinions! I am studying an art course there and i have to say that this uni has the most modern and up to date facilities going! Its brilliant, you have the opportunities to do what ever you want with the added bonus of the place being new! As well as the art part, the uni also has one of the best and most modern libraries in the country, with the best ..." Read review

The University of Hertfordshire

Advantagesmodern learning resource centre

Disadvantagessome departments not very good due to lack of research

"The university of hertfordshire is one of the "new" universities in UK. But believe me it proves that new can be gold as well. It has an excellent learning resource centre, one of the best in the whole of UK. It has 4 research rating in departments like computer science and astronomy. The university is particularly good in fields of science, engineering and computers. The other aspect which makes this university stand out is the fee, it has one of ..." Read review

UH Well, I'm there

AdvantagesGood libary

DisadvantagesPoor night life, closure of some courses

"This review of UH could be a little tainted as I am in my final year and with out telling the students over easter the vice chancelor decided to close the chemistry department in three years, you may think that that would not affect me, but a discision to sack all but 4 of the lecturers at easter was taken, now i am at easter revising for my finals, we have been told but not confermed that most of the lecturers are coming back on some tempory basis ..." i would give it no stars if i could

Advantageslibrary is good......

Disadvantagesshame about everything else

"Course I did a art and design course and I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am in this university. First let us start by talking about the course. My first impressions were, "it is very quiet in the studios but I’m sure it will get busier" However the only time when it did get really busy was in the third year when everyone started coming in because their degrees were coming to an end. Personally I found this appalling, as there is ..." Read review

Hertfordshire here I come

Advantagesvery close

Disadvantagespossibility of rejection

"As a sixth-former, I have just completed my UCAS forms applying for University. My number one choice was Hertfordshire. I have a few friends at the University and I have had nothing but glowing accounts about the 'Cognitive Science' course under the sub-section of Psyhcology. I hope I am accepted there, as the campus facilities on the Hatfield site look wonderful and I am told that the business school (complete with its own mansion!) is also fantastic. ..." Read review

Wow, my Uni is on here . . .

AdvantagesFree Internet and cheap booze

DisadvantagesNota Lotta Clubs

"Well, I guess seeing as I am sat in the Learning Resources Centre using the internet for free, I probably shouldn't slate the place too much. I am a little miffed about my course and I do have to say I don't reccomend Combined Studies as a course, its still in its teething stages and rather frustrating from the inside. However, the Uni is pretty goddamn wicked! Its a cool place to be. Hatfield is a pretty small town and the locals aren't exactly very ..." Read review

Do not bother

AdvantagesNone

DisadvantagesStudent is last priority

"I have just graduated from this university, and was very disappointed. There is no consistency across the modules and the courses are badly organised. The lecture rooms were often overcrowded. The university is more interested in receiving fees and therefore keeping the numbers high. This has an obvious impact on quality. Individuals are often put into large groups to carry out assignments in order to reduce the amount of marking for lecturers. This ..." Read review

Good Academics, Worst Administration Ever!!!

Advantagesgood facilities, ok academics, close to London

DisadvantagesNoisy Accommodation, Disorganized Administration

"Firstly, I have to say that they do provide nice library resources and the campuses are safe and fairly nice. The academics are good quality, but, in my opinion, not the best in the country and certainly not the best if you look in other countries. What has really put me off this university is the administration. In my experience, nobody in the university administration ever knows what is going on and I really don't think they could have given us ..." Read review

Herts Uni

AdvantagesNew campus

Disadvantagesfacillities, nightlife, teaching

"University life was generally great. Good people and we made the most of the situations around us. However the faculty I was at was disorganised and has no support students even in extreme circumstances. I know many people who through illness or other mitigating circumstances have peformed badly, but were not offered support at any stage. The university generally is only a business, not a place of learning. It is a shame as many people have a lot ..." Read review
