    Disadvantages Disadvantages The price

~~*~~*~~ Hills Science Plan Adult Chicken ~~*~~*~~ Doughnut is my pride and joy - she's an expensive little bugger but I love her. However, when it comes to her food - the most expensive is not always the best. Hills food is ruddy pricey at £45 ish for a 15kg bag so usually I'd get something a lot cheaper like Skinners or Burns dried food (she's fed the 'hypoallergenic and no additives' stuff cos lord knows she's got enough energy without anything else adding to the equation). The reason the little pig is being fed the caviar of canine kibble is due to the good people at Hills - we won a years ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Its expensive

Well hello there, thought I would pop back and have a go at this months competition as it is something that I have been involved in a lot recently. Hopefully a lot of you have read my review on my little dog called jack(if not why not?!?!) Well unfortunately before Christmas he started acting a little odd, he would have little wee accidents on the carpet (see below for a great tip on getting rid of the stain.) He would also have odd boughts of writhing on the floor, mainly after he had eaten his food. He also appeared to have lost some weight. I booked him into the vets and she had a look and ... more

Hills Canine Prescription R/D We were prescribed this diet by our vet for our 4 year old Labrador, who to be honest has got quite porky recently. What does it do? The R/D diet is designed to manage your dogs weight and can produce significant weight loss in dogs as it is low in calories. Weight gain in dogs is usually caused by an increase in body fat, which is usually caused by being greedy and eating too much food and also lack of exercise. The R/D prescription diet provides a complete diet with balanced nutrition so your dog receives all the nutrients it needs to be healthy while losing ... more

Advantages Advantages Really noticeable results, my dogs love it

Disadvantages Disadvantages More expensive than standard dog food

We have 2 Springer Spaniels, aged 6 and 3. We tried lots of different varieties of food, both canned and dry before we settled on Hills a couple of years ago. It was recommended by our vet, who we thought was just after a commission as he sells it! But we gave it a go and the results really were noticeable and we haven't looked back. Hills philosophy is to make pet foods to "enrich and lengthen the special relationships between people and their pets". I love my dogs so am a complete sucker for anything that will make them live longer! They make a range of prescription foods to fight specific ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast and considerable improvement in a short time

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No variety

We were in despair. We own a beautiful Jack Russell bitch with a lovely nature but a very nervous personality. We knew there was something wrong with her even as a tiny puppy. She was allergic to almost everything, including bees (we had to rush her to the vets after she was stung in the garden). As months progressed this nervousness and fragility passed to her digestion system and she became very ill with loose stools and incontinence. We were at a loss as to what to do about it as we would not even contemplate having her put down. We naturally took her to the vets and after trying all sorts ... more

Advantages Advantages Stops my dogs flatulence! Gives him a great coat.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not available in supermarkets

I have a bulldog who used to be fed on Eukanuba but there was quite a lot of bad press associated with that brand (another story) and I decided to change. After speaking to my vet I decided to try Hill's Science Plan (this was the only brand they stocked in the surgery so that's probably why it was recommended). After gradually switching my dog from Eukanuba to Hill's Lamb and Rice, I noticed that his flatulence was much improved. Now any bulldog owners out there will tell you a bully loves a good trump and I really don't mind it - it's part and parcel of having and loving a bully but the ... more

When we first bought out Puppy, we firstly fed her on canned puppy food with mixer, but she didn't seem to enjoy it. We had a trial pack of food from our local vet which was Hills Science Plan Puppy Food, Tara loved it and from then on we have fed her on it. The food has to be measured out to ensure that she is not being over fed and its easy to do following the guide on the back of the pack, plenty of drinking water is needed as it is a complete dry food. There are all of the vitamins and minerals for your puppy and she is progressing really well, I feel that we made the right decision, she ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Hills Canine by Kayavemitzen 09/07/2007
I have a 3 year old German Shepherd, who became very ill when I fed him 'Chappie'. His legs and paws swelled to double their size. I immediately called my vet inand he told me that it was the 'Chappie' that was doing it, it was affecting his liver. He told me to feed him on Hills, within a few days he was a different dog. The changes were amasing, he is now (after three weeks on Hills) alot heathier and fitter. I'd go for Hills any day. PLEASE< PLEASE anyone feeding their dog on 'Chappie' DONT. Mrs K Wanless

I have a 17 week old Staffordshire Bull Terrier called "Tessa" which has been fed on Hills Science Plan Puppy since she was weaned, orignially it was recommended by our vet and I am very pleased with the results. She is growing into a very lively healthy dog and appears to enjoy the taste. The food has added vitamins and minerals to promote healthy grow and also to help the digestive and imune system, they seem to be doing there job. I often get stopped by people and told what a lovely dog she is, now you could say that is just puppy syndrome and me being a proud owner, but she does have the ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages price is slightly higher

Science Plan-Puppy Large BreedEven if the price is slightly higher this product deserves every penny.Among all the similar products this is the most complete. As long as you feed your puppy with this you can forget for sure about vitamins and minerals supplements. I am a vet and I can say that puppies with digestive disorders unresponsive to other diets, have never had problems after I advised the owners to feed them with this product.it seems to have a perfect taste even appreciated by the picky puppies. The L-carnitine supplement is a positive aspect, ensuring optimal development of muscle ... more
