Shopping Channels. Don't you just love them? There's something strangely addictive about watching presenters who were obviously chosen for the size of their, erm…smile, rather than their product knowledge as they over-enthuse about something which is clearly crap. I'm not quite so found of the live studio based shows of QVCs or the never ending tat peddled by Price Drop, instead preferring the American pre-recorded shows, for sheer entertainment ...
...product in question as some glamed-up drippy sidekick "wow's" and "amazes" herself to a state of near-indecency. I love the in-your-face American style of 'Chef Tony' showing us the best new ways to cook "frozen scrambled eggs" and "chilli dogs" in an appliance that looks like the bastard love child of a toaster, microwave and R2-D2. Or the never ending commercials for a new diet or exercise regime that makes people with the waist size of Newport ...

...look back after buying the Home-tek Ht834 Steam Mop. Its fantastic, Its fast and easy to setup to use, always spotless cleaning and with no effort also the pads are washable, I just chuck mine in the washing machine and not had to replace it yet. It stands up on its own so no need to lean it against a wall. It comes with a removable mop pad with velcro on the back that stick straight to the bottom of the mop , you just have to place the mop on top ...
...its a very strong grip. Mine came with a carpet attachment that you just stand the mop on so it glides over rugs and carpets , I find this really useful, no messing about attaching and un-attaching, you don't even need to bend down. I think you can also get the mop with an extra patio attachment too, I wish i had bought this now knowing how good the mop is! Setting the mop is so easy , easier than the mop and bucket. I have Solid wooden floors in two downstairs rooms and laminate flooring in another two. With three kids (12, 10, 3) and me being a little clumsy I seemed to be constantly mopping up crayon, sauce, tea stains etc. I have neck and shoulder problems and find using a mop which requires wringing and elbowgrease very difficult. the home tek steam mop ht824 light and easy was a good cleaning tool until it went wrong ie the water pipes are that flimsey when they get hot they split leaving enough water in the electrical compartment to actually cause you harm ie electrical shock which could kill whoever uses this mop. please be very aware that when this happens the mop wont work even if you repaire the said split pipes which for the ammount of heat this mop generates is disgraceful.when ...

Saw a similar but more expensive product advertised elsewhere so since we have a lot of wood flooring we bought this model recently to give it a try. You know what its like - you see an advert and it looks brilliant but when you try it, it is not quite as good. That is NOT the case with this little beauty. I absolutely endorse this product, since I have had wooden flooring laid this is the one product that really deep cleans & smells fresh all day long, it does say just use water for the steam to clean but I use a little zoflora mixed with warm water & spray the floor first, there is certainly no harm done to the wood because the steam mop absorbs the moisture from the floor, fantastic, i wouldnt use anything else. ...

I purhased one and it started to leave the floors very wet and after 10 months the flimsy foot fedal disintegrated, to be fair lakelands who suiplied it were very good and replaced it immediatelly, however this new one has lasted only 9 months now it doesnt steam, I contacyed homrtek and there response was we sell thousands and that I was just unlucky well you can say that again, in my opinion this is of poor constuction leaves the floors to wet and I would certainly not recomend it ...

I recently purchased a Home-Tek steam mop on the advice of a friend, and I have to say that I have not been disapointed with it. It is really quick and easy to use, but I would advise that extra pads are purchased as it is a bit of pain having to keep washing and drying the same one. As I have young children it was important that the floor was not too wet after, and this mop does not leave too much water behind, and what is left drys very quickly. ...

After queueing on hold for ages and being passed from one operater to the other, I phoned Pitch TV and they refused to give me a refund or send me a new mop because I did not have proof of purchase.
