The Homepride Pasta Bake, known in our house for it's great taste, ease of preparing and how much it fills you up! We started cooking these over a year ago now and they've become part of our monthly routine. ...simple meal to make and Homepride are definitely the King of the Pasta Bake sauces! They have a fairly wide variety of sauces which contain a mixture of cheese, herbs, vegetables and tomatoes so there should be something to suit every taste (or pretty much!). This really is the easiest meal you can make without venturing into the realms of 'ready meals'. The pasta goes really nice and soft and the sauce is lovely and rich. The cheese on top goes hard and crunchy making a nice contrast to the bake. The bits of bacon are a nice size, i think any bigger and they would be too big, ...

I first tried Homepride Pasta bake - creamy tomato and herb last year and was surprised at how good this actually tastes and that the pasta was cooked perfectly since you don't have to boil the pasta previously. At the moment it cost £1 at ASDA which is usually around £1.40 so as far as I am concerned it's a good deal and even cheaper to make the perfect pasta bake.

Advantages: Quick, filling meal for all the family Disadvantages: Product without extra additions can be bland
I've been using the Homepride pasta bake sauces for a couple of years now. My partner bought some while they were on offer at the local shop, assuring me that I would love them, but I wasn’t so sure. Until then I had been a firm aficionado of making a pasta sauce and having it on plain pasta, lasagne aside that is.
The jars of pasta bake sat in the cupboard for several months. Every time I was asked if I would like to try it, I said no. Until that ... ...pepperoni one. Very tasty.
Homepride have also just added two new flavours and changed the jar style. You can now get Four Cheese and Oven Bolognaise. The problem with the jars is that they are now slightly taller and thinner, similar to the Dolmio jars, which I don’t have the room to stack in my cupboard. I used to be able to store two jars on top of the other, but alas no longer.
They can be pretty good value too, as long as you get them on offer. ...

Advantages: Easy, warm, creamy Disadvantages: You do have to wait about 50 minutes, it's quite expensive for one jar.
Homepride Pasta bake is something I discovered when I was a student, but I'm still using it now. As the winter nights are drawing in, it's great to have something warm and filling to come home to!
The product itself, is a jar of sauce, much like a pasta sauce that you stir into cooked pasta. However, it's a bit different, as what you actually do is pour it over some dried pasta in an oven dish. Then you go away and do something else, open some wine, ... ...cheese over, leave for long enough to set the table, then it's ready.
What you get is quite a creamy, chunky sauce, and that lovely warm smell and atmosphere from cooking in the oven.
Despite being by definition a pakaged food, another advantage of pasta bake sauce is that you can make alterations to make it that bit more healthy, e.g by using wholegrain pasta, adding some sweetcorn, or whatever, while it stays a quick, easy meal. More recipe suggestions ...
