Why is the CBR600 the best selling bike ever?

AdvantagesComfort, Reliability, Durability

DisadvantagesGearbox, Camchain tensioners

"...second hand 2 year old Honda CBR600F with 6k on the clock. It's the 2002 fuel injected version. My first bike was a Suzuki SV650S which I got after passing my Direct Access in 2002. The Honda was something of a step up from the SV, which was starting to limit my learning on account of its budget suspension. I fancied something a little bit sharper to challenge me a bit more. I looked around at the sports 600s and even considered a 900 for a while ..." Read review

Honda CBR600

AdvantagesLooks very modern and sporty

Disadvantageshigh pegs at the back can cause pain in your legs

"...dad owned an E registered Honda CB350S which was ok. Looked standard, no fairing, red and black and in no way stood out from a crowd. As many people tend to do Vinnie (my dad and that’s short for Vincent) went down to the local Motorcycle shop, which he did used to work for many years ago, before it got taken over and made some enquiries. Everyone never wants to take a step back they always want to go forward. Obviously another 350cc would not ..." Read review

CBR600 - old faithful

Advantageswell built, reliable, practical and comfortable.

DisadvantagesA bit bland

"In 1987 Honda introduced the CBR600, which is one of the longest running motorcycle models. Most bikes are redesigned and given a new model name, the CBR has had three major revisions and kept it name. This is probably because the CBR was the top selling motorcycle in most years since its introduction and although the latest looks vastly different from the first it is still, at heart, a CBR - which is a bike that is well built, reliable, practical, ..." "...streamlined). ***************************************************** I have paid the new HONDA CBR 600F 2001 white-red-blue in monday 30/07/2001 obtaining approximately 12,5% of reduction in price (WOW!). Tuesday 31/07/2001 I have sold my YAMAHA TZR125 RR of 1995. Wednesday 01/08/2001 I have received the plate number and have gone to take it. Only 2 days, a record delivery! beautiful machine!

Advantagesfantastic value, proven history

Disadvantagesyamaha outperforms

"...and thundercat, decided that the honda was for me. The only 600 that can match it is the yamR6, but the long solid history of the honda persuaded me! fantastic handling, mine has done 155 mph (in germany) never broken down, only been back to the dealer for servicing and runs like a dream! best money iever spent! ..." Best all-rounder

Advantages

Disadvantages

"The Honda CBR600 really is the best all-rounder. I am now on my second and would not consider any other. Pillion comfort is essential, as my wife goes everywhere with me, and she remains cramp free while other wifes/girlfriends on other sports bikes are left in pain after long rides. The performance is more than adequate for normal road riding and the handling is superb. I've been riding bikes for nearly twenty years and I still reach my limit of ..." Read review

CBR600FW 1998 Import

AdvantagesReliability, comfort, handling, looks

DisadvantagesNo fork oil drain plugs

"...an import. So what's sp good. Well Honda have been making these bikes for well over a decade, and have refined it and tuned it to perfection The handling is spot on, forgiving even. It's reliability and build quality is great - nothing has gone wrong whatsoever in 13000 miles and nearly 2 years use. Very comfortable, so good for touring, but fast enough to keep up with all but the most modern of sportsters. I'm sure the 1999 and onwards versions ..." Read review

CBR600 sets the standard

AdvantagesReliability, Riding Position, Longevity, Good Pillion Seat

DisadvantagesSlightly down on power

"I have not owned a bike for about 30 years (my last machine was a Z900 Kawasaki). I decided last year to take the plunge and get back in the saddle. I read all the road tests available on every sports bike going, and after numerous test rides I bought a 1998 CBR600FW. This machine has been a revelation. It is nothing like the Z900, which was an ill handling and sluggish beast. The CBR600 is absoultely perfect for anyone new to the world of sports ..." Read review

Sweet lovely F4

AdvantagesNimble bike for practical every day use for street, Track and Tour

DisadvantagesToo tame...

"...keeping up at all times. Honda fuel-injection suck big time, F4i is so noisy and unrefined compared to the older brother the carb model. My prior CBR900RRV was easy to live with, plus that tendon ripping power. Been doing abit of touring from Singapore to Malaysia on my CBR900RRV, my girlfriend complaint about the awkward seating posture. I love my girlfriend. Therefore, CBR600F4 is the only solution for those sport orientated rider yet need to ..." Read review

very japanese (dangerous) at the limit

Advantagescheep to, buy, run, own,and fast and faster looking, great motor.

Disadvantagescheep, balancing act.

"I do not own this bike and have never done so, so my review is very subjectivly based on the few i have ridden over the last 6 years. A ruff 1999, 2002, very well kept 2003 and a showroom 2005. about 25 hours riding time in total. I have to say in terms of running costs, top end per pound, and reliability these bikes are super, but thats just what i have been told by the owners. What I would like to say is how good they are to ride, they handle ..." Read review

Probably the best 600cc bike on the Planet!

AdvantagesAbsolutely Fantastic!

DisadvantagesNone!

"I bought my 2000 model CBR600 in June of ..... 2000! Well, its been the best fun i've had on 2 wheels, and i've had a few bikes. I am only 5'7" and so reaching the ground on the CBR is a bit of a struggle, but once you have got used to that throwing the mere 174kg around the twisties is second to none. I have 2 friends that also own the same bike. I would recommend it to anyone. The only improvement I made was the addition of an aftermarket ..." Read review

True Honda Heritage

Advantageslight weight, powerful, easy to handle

Disadvantagesaverage looks

"CBRs have been made for 13 years. That's why I bought the 600. Apart from this, the bike is light, easy to handle and rides as if it is reading your mind. If you are looking for a first bike, this is the one. Everything that your friends tell you about this bike is true. Short sprints or long journies, I have enjoyed them all and can't wait to ride her again. Start her up and she purrs like a kitten, give her some throttle and she roars like a lion, ..." Read review

CBR600FX

AdvantagesReliability, speed handling, brakes

Disadvantagesboring to ride, top heavy, high sittling position

"...good stopping power, corners well. Typical Honda reliability. The only but, is I hate the way you sit on top of the bike instead of in it. You dont feel nearly as secure. I find it a bit boring though, think I'll stick to my Laverda. Much more fun. ..." Read review

The best bike in the world.

AdvantagesSpeed and it looks nice

DisadvantagesThe exaust is a bit to noisy for my liking

"I have recently purchased an CBR and in my opinion it is the best vehicle i have ever owned. I have had a jaguar XJR and there is no comparison. I have had it race tuned and the acceleration on it is tremendous. I would recomend any one who is even remotly considering buying one to do so. I would rather have a CBR antday than say a Huyabusa. So far i have had noproblems with it and it is a 1996 model. I would never, never, never, never even consider ..." Read review
